Film Review: More Highlights From Spring Live Period 2026

Her shooting ability off of the catch has been steady the past few months and she has been able to play off of that by getting all the way into the teeth of the defense off the bounce whenever she is being over-played. When those opportunities present themselves she has demonstrated that she can finish on either side of the bucket, no matter if there is a defender protecting the paint or not. She stands right around 5'10, usually cleaning up any and all messes by the rim. Truesdell might not have been their leading producer last week but she stood out as someone that you have to note or else she can fill it up in a hurry in a plethora of different ways. She also rebounded and defended her own position really well, which kept her on the floor in meaningful moments. There are several players to see on this Iowa Hoops Dream 17U team. What stood out the most to me is the work that Eastman does early on in a possession. Offensively, she buries her opponent coming down the court and that helps her get some simple buckets while her defenders under the bucket. She runs the floor at an impressive pace for someone over 6'0 and she knows how to finish in every way imaginable when she has space and time on the block. Defensively, she is a player that opponents need to worry about. If not, it's going to end in a blocked shot attempt because Eastman knows how stay down and disciplined in the toughest situations. She made some easy attempts in a few contests and played better than average defense from her SG position. During the high school season Oakland is one of her program's main weapons on offense. On this AAU team she is still working to find her place with other really talented individuals surrounding her but that's all going to happen in due time. I'm sure the next time we see all these AAU teams competing that they will look 10x better in all facets just because of their time together during practice and such. Keep an eye on Oakland. She has some potential and I have a feeling she is going to turn it up for her Senior year at Cedar Falls.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
