Eastman had a great weekend in Milwaukee with her Lady Pure Prep program during Live Period #1. What stood out the most to me is the work that Eastman does early on in a possession. Offensively, she buries her opponent coming down the court and that helps her get some simple buckets while her defenders under the bucket. She runs the floor at an impressive pace for someone over 6’0 and she knows how to finish in every way imaginable when she has space and time on the block. Defensively, she is a player that opponents need to worry about. If not, it’s going to end in a blocked shot attempt because Eastman knows how stay down and disciplined in the toughest situations. All in all, Eastman is one of the best Forwards out of the 2027 Class within the state of Iowa and her play demonstrated that during this event.

from the collegiate level for years now because of her upside potential. She might compete at that 1A level but she has good size at 6’0, she isn’t afraid to be physical, she has a soft touch near the hoop, she has better than average footwork, and she has a smart head on her shoulders overall. We have seen all of this stuff all Winter long now and we saw it to end the season over the past few days as well. She uses her size to her advantage and that’s nice to see because that’s not the case with most. I’m not sure where Eastman is going to end up but she is going to have options and her team is most likely going to be right back in the same spot next season as the are looking for a State Title once again.

‘s game and her junior season has sure been one to watch. Leading the way for Bishop Garrigan High School, Eastman is leading her team in points, blocks, rebounds, and shooting percentage. In fact Eastman is shooting 62.4% from the floor while averaging just under 20 points per game. While the small forward’s bread and butter is finishing with a strong drop step or through contact, she also runs the floor well and can smoothly finish on the move with a nice euro step or two-foot finish. Regardless of the move she makes at the rim, you can count on Eastman to get the bucket to go.

this off-season so naturally excited to see what she can bring to the floor for her Junior year at BG. Eastman, a 6’0 SF, has started to round out her game. She is becoming better further away from the hoop while still being dangerous underneath on both sides of the ball. She will be this BG team’s source of production between the blocks so she will have ample opportunities over the next 24 months. If BG wants to bring it back to the 1A State Title conversation, they are going to have to bust out of the gates on fire this season. Something that is definitely do-able as we kick things off her in the next few weeks.

of Bishop Garrigan High School. Eastman is a true Forward that understands her strengths. She works really well communicating near the blocks, she does her work early down the floor during offensive possessions, she isn’t afraid to use her physicality to her strength, and she is adaptable. She knows things change and in any given moment that she might be called to make things happen. This is a big Winter season ahead for the 2027 Class. If Eastman continues with the momentum she has already set in place, who knows where she might take things.

of BG High School. Eastman is one of the taller players that the state of Iowa has to offer coming in between 6’0-6’1. Eastman would be considered a Forward, that works pretty well inside the painted area. She is someone that moves well in transition, she does her work early on in possessions with her body positioning, and she is a player that other opponents have to worry about when driving for attempts at the bucket or else she will finish the possession in a block and rebound. All in all, it’s been a solid Spring season for GE and I expect that to continue throughout the month of July.

lands into this conversation because of her height, the production she is posting this season, and her future possibilities over this next week. Eastman is the X-Factor for her group because she will have height on most in Round One and that should help her team advance. From there, they would have to face St. Albert as long as they move ahead as well. This is where Eastman becomes extremely important. St. Albert will have their main producer and best player in

going to work on their end. If we get to this point, this battle could come down to who plays better out of the post. For BG, they will need Eastman to play well to keep things rolling. Something that is possible but we will just have to see how it plays out.

started off her Sophomore campaign on fire on Tuesday evening, single handedly outscoring the opposing team by herself by 10 points. Eastman finished with a combined 30 Points on the contest on 11/16 shooting, including going 100% from the free throw stripe at 6/6. Not only did Eastman kill it, her team absolutely dominated in their 78-20 victory. As a whole this team demonstrated that they understand what it means to play team basketball. If they can continue on their trend and they keep getting Eastman into favorable positions on both sides of the floor, then who knows how far they could take things before this season comes to a close.

is a Top-10 ranked prospect out of her 2027 Class and the #4 rated Small Forward at this point in the process. Eastman is going to join up with her Bishop Garrigan High School team again this Winter and I’m sure she is going to put some numbers while doing so. Eastman is a Forward that stands at 6’0, she is fairly athletic of her size, and she has that mixture of coordination of touch and balance that all coaches love to see. With anyone out of this 2027 Class, their progression over the next few years is what is most important. With the natural gifts that Eastman already possesses, if the skill-side of the game continue to expand, she is going to a producer at the collegiate level in some form/facet before you know it.

I’m expecting a big step up this season at Bishop Garrigan for Small Forward, Gracelyn Eastman. Eastman is someone that took the state by storm this past 8 months because of her mixture of size, athletic ability, and her skill level at this point in her life. She is someone that has better than average height at 6’0, she moves with quick feet and agile movements down the court, and she has a soft touch on the basketball when she is near the hoop. She has also proven that she can put the rock on the ground, taking her matchup to different spots on the floor to give her an advantage or she can just post up with her back to the basket against someone that is smaller/weaker. If she continues to play to her full potential, while being a defensive stopper and positive teammate, she is going to go places at the next level. She just needs to continue to trust in the process.
