Film Session: Reviewing Tape From High School Season

In this Film Session we are reviewing some tape from the end of the high school season that just took place a few months ago.   Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!    After watching film on Mhoon the past few days it's easy to say that Mhoon is a college level prospect in every facet of the game from the CG position. Offensively, she can push tempo off a rebound for buckets in transition, she attacks the offensive glass at a steady rate, she can hit shots off the catch or bounce from the outside, and the bag work she has while attacking is thorough. She is very good at finishing through contact and she understands pace of play to a high extent. Defensively, she can change the game with how she impacts an opposing team's motion. Mhoon is currently playing this AAU season with the AIA EYCL program. I'm sure she is going to show out and grab some offers moving into her Senior season of high school. She just needs to play like she did this past Winter and she will be just fine.     Olivia Wacha attacks angles against her defenders better than most her age. She also understands how to get the defense on their toes whole being able to switch directions in the drop of a hat. This combination helps her get downhill while moving toward the bucket and that usually leads to a lot of production by her team in one way or another on the offensive end. Wacha also has good size for what she can do out on the floor at 5'9 so she can move around and play from the 2 or even 3 if need be. Looking back on this Winter and she is coming off a rememberable campaign as a whole. Now she is working to build on that on the road this Spring AAU season.     Whenever you see someone in this game with a mixture of size and skill at a young age, it's something to note and that's what we have here with Madelyn Tigges. Most might not know about Tigges just yet but she is coming off of another run with Bishop Garrigan High School the last few months. From everything I've seen out of her, this is someone that gets stuck under the hoop a good amount and she produces there but she also has the ability to step out and create from the outside comparatively. As she gets older, her confidence is going to grow and so will her game in general. She already has a bunch of interest from afar so now it's only a matter of time until someone steps in to say hello from the collegiate level.     Bondurant-Farrar had their up's and down's last season but someone who played consistently well was Tiara Berggren at the PG spot. Berggren has some natural ability to her play style. She primarily works with the ball in her possession, running whatever offense is being instructed. She is good enough to be able to audible quickly if things break down but she usually does a solid job of setting everyone up where they should be before hand. TB should have a chance to put together a nice run this Spring and Summer with her Iowa Hoop Dreams 17U team. They have a few individuals with some real length so with her running the show, everyone should continue to make things happen.     It's always interesting whenever a prospect from a smaller school comes into to play with some higher Class level kids but in Elody England's situation she has been producing at such a high rate for her Iowa Falls-Alden program that I don't think she will miss a beat this AAU season with Lady Pure Prep AAU. England is mainly a SG but she does a little bit of everything. She rebounds hard, she defends like her life depends on it, she is always communicating at a high rate, she always makes the extra pass when possible, and she is someone that everyone enjoys being around as a competitor. All of those factors lead to a prospect that can make some things happen when they need to and that's something you have to respect.
