PGH MI College Tour II Wayne State-Green Light Shooters

The Prep Girls Hoops Michigan College Tour made its second stop at Wayne State University on Saturday, April 25th. Both fieldhouses on campus were packed with college coaches right from the opening tip, representing several programs across the D2, NAIA, D3, and JUCO levels. I was encouraged by the fact that the prospects had the opportunity to be observed by different levels of college programs and respected scouts, maximizing their potential to be recruited. My coverage focused on teams competing on courts three and four throughout the day. Here are six prospects whose perimeter accuracy gives them the green light to pull it from three-point distance.    Lilly has a prototypical jumper that makes it look like every shot is headed for the bottom of the net. She maintains her balance and has a rhythmic follow-through when she pulls the trigger off the catch or the dribble. Lilly drained smooth threes from the wing, corner, and up top. She looked off a defender by staring at the rim, then blew by on a baseline drive after a quick crossover to score a layup. She chased down rebounds on both ends, created turnovers with her ball pressure, and used great wall-up technique to force a miss. Lilly was a top performer for [program_tooltip program_id='712547' first='Hype' last='Athletics'] 16U at the PGH MI College Tour II.     Taylor brought the energy and her multidimensional impact helped [program_tooltip program_id='715695' first='Michigan' last='Vice'] 16U finish the day undefeated in their pool. She caught fire in a game, drilling three triples in a short span and worked hard to cut off drives on the defensive end. Taylor stepped up in the Silver Championship Game. She knocked down a pullup jumper off a crossover dribble after freezing the defender with a shot-fake and accelerated with a burst to score a left-handed layup. She eluded defenders in the lane using a shifty double-crossover, then switched hands late to score with a soft touch off the glass. Taylor drilled a clutch corner three and knocked down key free throws late to help seal the victory. Her quick feet and aggressive pressure created turnovers on the defensive end, making Taylor a complete contributor and top performer at the PGH MI College Tour II.     Emma was one of the biggest stock risers at the PGH MI College Tour II, and she put on a show for [program_tooltip program_id='1249476' first='Lakeside' last='Basketball Academy'] 16U. Emma has length, versatility as a ball-handler/slasher, and lights-out accuracy from beyond the arc that projects to a high level of college basketball. She moved her feet and used textbook wall-up technique on a baseline drive to force a miss, then showed her aggressive shot-blocking instincts by swatting multiple shots away in the paint. Emma pushed the ball up the floor with both hands after securing a defensive rebound, created a driving lane with a shifty double-crossover, and forced the help to put her on the free-throw line. She crashed the glass to secure offensive rebounds and was on fire from three: wing three off the catch, step-back corner three, deep wing three, crossover off-platform contested three in the slot--just a sample. Emma split the gap for a drive by bucket and made a great kickout to her sister for an assist on another triple. The splash sisters were at it again, and Emma was a top performer.     Olivia was dialed in from beyond the arc again, and she frequently found the bottom of the net. During my observations, Olivia buried four corner threes, a straightaway triple, and added another wing three from the parking lot off the catch. She used a quick rip move to split defenders on a drive, crossed over to her left, then finished the layup. Olivia made skilled entry passes and dished out assists as an effective facilitator. She scored a strong and-one layup with her left and showed her toughness, popping up after a hard foul. Her length, skill, perimeter accuracy, and versatility project to a high level of college basketball. Olivia was a top performer for [program_tooltip program_id='1249476' first='Lakeside' last='Basketball Academy'] 16U at the PGH MI College Tour II.     Taylor competed for [program_tooltip program_id='1345873' first='Dream' last='Loudly Basketball'] 16U EYCL Paiz, and her productivity on the court spoke volumes at the PGH MI College Tour II. She's added muscle to her frame, has the quick-twitch shiftyness, ball-handling control, court vision, defensive presence, and lights-out accuracy from three you want at the lead guard spot. Taylor was in the zone, sinking one, two, three, four triples in one game from up top, in the corner, including a moon shot. She's a game wrecker on the defensive end, reaching in fast to tie up the ball on drives to the basket. Taylor turned her hips and sprinted to keep ball-handlers in a box. She facilitated effectively and turned in an All-Conference First Team performance for the Gold Pool Champions.     Jaeda was outstanding for [program_tooltip program_id='714458' first='Michigan' last='Cobras'] 17U in the PGH MI College Tour II opener. She was dialed in from beyond the arc in the first half of the game, ripping the net with two confident triples from the slot and a buzzer-beating three from the wing. Jaeda threw a great lob pass inside for an assist, dropped in a floater off the dribble, and jumped into the passing lanes to snag a steal. Her poise with ball, confidence on the offensive end, and scrappy defense resulted in recognition as a top performer. Jaeda scored double-digits and led the squad in scoring all three of their matchups.
