Taylor competed for Dream Loudly Basketball 16U EYCL Paiz, and her productivity on the court spoke volumes at the PGH MI College Tour II. She’s added muscle to her frame, has the quick-twitch shiftyness, ball-handling control, court vision, defensive presence, and lights-out accuracy from three you want at the lead guard spot. Taylor was in the zone, sinking one, two, three, four triples in one game from up top, in the corner, including a moon shot. She’s a game wrecker on the defensive end, reaching in fast to tie up the ball on drives to the basket. Taylor turned her hips and sprinted to keep ball-handlers in a box. She facilitated effectively and turned in an All-Conference First Team performance for the Gold Pool Champions.

Taylor set a Thornapple Kellogg single-season school record by sinking eight triples against Grand Rapids Union as a freshman. She gave an encore performance last week against the state’s best D2 team. Taylor launched bombs from well beyond college range. She drilled pull-ups from the volleyball line off the dribble, finishing with eight three-pointers and 26 points.

Taylor may have been one of the smallest players on the floor, but she played with heart, confidence, and skill that demanded attention. She showed impressive ball-handling and poise, staying composed under pressure and making smart decisions with the ball in her hands. Her passing was sharp and timely, helping keep the offense flowing smoothly. During shooting drills, Taylor really stood out—knocking down shots with consistency and confidence. Her combination of court awareness, skill, and competitiveness makes her a player who always finds a way to make an impact.

Taylor had me out of my seat during her game on Friday at The Smoke. She has a gritty, hard-nosed style you can’t help but love when you watch her play and a fearlessness that stands out. Taylor put her defender off balance with a jab step and blew by to finish a strong layup off two in traffic. She buried heavily contested triples on back-to-back possessions with a lightning-quick release. Taylor used a between-the-legs, behind-the-back, hesitation, double-crossover combination to freeze her defender, then drove hard into a defender’s chest, scored the and-one layup, then knocked down her free throw. She battled for offensive rebounds and was one of the most exciting point guards to watch at the tournament.

Taylor put on a fireworks display from 3-point distance, setting a Thornapple Kellogg single-game record with eight triples against Grand Rapids Union in January. Her evasive ball-handling combinations, passing vision, perimeter accuracy, and finishing touch in traffic will make her an exciting point guard to watch on West Michigan Drive 15U-S40 this spring.
