Phenom Hoops Queen City Showcase: 2028 Top Performers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>When any travel basketball season commences, one of the more anticipated dates on the schedule are live period weekends. The first of the 2026 grassroots schedule took place this past weekend.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Queen City Showcase emanated from the Rock Hill-Fort Mill area. It was a combination girls and boys event hosted by Phenom Hoops. Three venues were utilized – the Bleachery Field House, the Rock Hill Sports and Event Center and Nation Ford HS.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The latter venue was where the bulk of girls contests took place and we at Prep Girls Hoops were on site for Saturday's festivities. Even though her team as on the wrong end of the result, Nohr was not fazed by the early morning start. Her shiftiness with the basketball enables her to split defenders and finish strong at the cup. Nohr has no problems drawing contact and taking her chances at the free throw line. She averaged 6.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in the 16 games where she played for last season's Hawks. On Saturday morning, her travel team matched up against Team Mack region 2028 and she helped her team's cause with 11 points en route to a 48-841 victory. Out of the 11 points she placed on the scoreboard, seven occurred in the second half of play. Much of Team Charleston 16U's efforts against Team Mack Regional 2028 were spearheaded by Cole. She had eight points in what was a 48-41 win for Team Charleston 16U. All eight points were in the first half and the eight points she had at the break led all of Team Charleston 16U's point-getters. She is listed at 5-foot-10 and that can give her a height advantage over a number of her peers. Height is one thing that cannot be coached and that shows itself with what she is able to get accomplished in close proximity to the rim. That also displays itself with what she is able to do as a transition floor runner and rim attacker. Jones is an effective 3-point shooter an offense and understands the importance of maintaining outstretched arms as a defender. On plenty of occasions, one can notice Jones setting up offensively on the wing. Jones gets that basketball is a contact sport and how that can give her and her team plenty of free throw opportunities. Finding attacking lanes to the rim is another one of Jones' strong points. This past season for the Yellow Jackets, Jones would play in 11 of Fort Mill's games. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
