I spent the last two days at the OAW Indoor Sports Complex in New Berlin, and numerous players stood out over the past few days. However, some internet issues prevented me from tweeting about everyone I would have liked. However, over the next few days, we'll look at a few players who I was impressed by over the weekend, and we'll start that tonight.

Each time I watched the Milton native play this past weekend, she played well. She was aggressive on the offensive end and hunted her shot on that end of the floor. She played with more confidence than I may have ever seen from her, and got to her spots whenever she wanted. She is a multi-sport athlete who may go a different direction than basketball in college, if she chooses to play sports at all, but she has the tools to be an effective player at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='874404' first='Ava' last='Cumicek']

Cumicek had an excellent end to the high school season and showed her talent on the biggest stage in Wisconsin High School basketball. In New Berlin, she continued to excel offensively. She shot the ball well in the halves I watched her play, and looked comfortable with the ball in her hands. She was the most influential player on the floor when I watched her play.

[player_tooltip player_id='874389' first='Kailynn' last='Thompson']

The Bay Port forward is a physical post player and looked better than I have ever seen her play this past weekend. She looked more comfortable controlling the area around the basket and playing through contact around the post. She was comfortable playing through contact and scoring with either hand around the basket. The more of that she does in the next few years, the better she will be as a high school player and as an overall prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='1225521' first='Kennedy' last='Konkol']

I hadn't seen Konkol in a ball-dominant role in person before, and I was pleasantly surprised with how well she handled the ball under pressure. She looked comfortable with the ball in her hands, how well she played through traffic, and made the right reads. She looked confident and never seemed to get flustered on the floor. There may not have been a player I left more impressed with throughout my first two AAU events of the spring and summer than Konkol. I'm eager to see her play again later in the year because of how well she played the past few days.
