Every year, there are players in each class in Wisconsin who have excellent grassroots seasons and elevate their stock in the eyes of college coaches. Now that there is one live period in the books and about three more months of basketball, depending on the program, before the season ends. Now is as good a time as any to look at some prospects who could impress coaches at the next level before the end of July.

The now two-time state champion in Wisconsin is playing her final year of grassroots basketball south of the border for one of the most reputable programs in the Midwest. We have seen a few players head down to play for Mac Irvin, succeed, and earn opportunities to play at a high level in college. Zehner is a hard-nosed kid who works hard and is a creative player with the ball in her hands. Once she finds her footing with a new group of girls, she could thrive this grassroots season.

Sweeney will play in front of some of the most notable programs from around the country, playing for [program_tooltip program_id='1824595' first='Team' last='Prime Nation'] in the EYBL. The Appleton native is an excellent perimeter shooter, and we've seen players who can shoot the leather off the ball draw more interest in their final year of grassroots basketball in the Midwest. Sweeney is a player who can handle the ball, create off the dribble, and has no hesitation shooting when she's open. Her ability to shoot the ball can help her carve out a role in most programs.

The Milton native has been a significant part of the Red Hawks' emergence as a successful program over the past few seasons. Buttchen hunts her shot and can score the ball from all three levels. She's a solid athlete who competes on the defensive end of the floor. Regional programs should make time to see her play with her [program_tooltip program_id='1230720' first='Team' last='Herro'] group at some point this AAU season.

There aren't many players who impact winning the way Lauer does anytime she's on the floor. Every time I see her play, she finds ways to make winning plays, even when she has no business being involved in the action. The KML guard has the athletic tools to help a regional school at the next level, and she's won at every place she's played, which can't be said about many players, and that's not a coincidence.
