Southern Ties is a newly formed program that has evolved from a previous team—but if you know Kellen McCoy, then you already have a good idea of the culture, expectations, and style of play. It's a familiar foundation, just with a new look and fresh talent.   Let's take a peek at some of the players making up the Southern Ties 17U/16U squads. Southern Ties 17U/16U is a program to keep an eye on as they grow, compete, and make their mark on the circuit.    A versatile combo guard who can knock down the three but is at her best attacking the gaps and getting to the rim. She has a smooth pull-up jumper off the dribble and does a great job creating her own shot off the bounce or coming off a screen.   She shows great instincts around the basket, using her quick hops and timing to track the ball off the rim and convert put-back opportunities.   With a strong, physical frame, she can defend on the perimeter and also gives you the flexibility to guard in the post when needed.   Earned Second Team All-District honors and was a key component in helping the Lady Irish make a State Tournament run.     A nationally ranked player with great size, athleticism, and a versatile skill set. She possesses exceptional ball-handling ability for her size, making her a tough matchup for opposing defenders. Her ability to stretch the floor with outside shooting, combined with her effectiveness in the post, creates major problems for defenses.   She moves extremely well without the basketball, consistently making plays whether it's relocating for an open jumper or cutting to the rim for an easy finish.   Defensively, she brings her length and wingspan, allowing her to guard on the perimeter while also protecting the paint with shot-blocking ability.   A player who has been drawing attention since her 8th-grade year, A huge addition for the Southern Ties program, bringing high-level talent and exposure to the roster. If you haven't seen or heard of this young standout yet, she's definitely one to watch on the circuit.     A long, athletic combo guo continues to develop every time she steps on the court. Faith has established herself as a defensive specialist, often playing at the top of a press where she uses her length and athleticism to create turnovers.   She excels off the ball, reading passing lanes and turning steals into easy transition opportunities. She fills the lane well on the fast break and finishes for layups.   Offensively, her game is still growing, with her shooting range currently in the mid-range. She's steady improvement each time she plays shows a high ceiling.   A pure athlete who thrives in an up-tempo system on both ends of the floor. Keep an eye on this 2029 prospect she is going to be special     A lightning-quick point guard who thrives in the open court. Her low stance, explosive first step, and ability to change speeds make her extremely dangerous in transition. She's the type of passer who sees openings before they develop, consistently putting teammates in position to score.   A playmaker capable of putting up double-doubles with points and steals and while flirting with a triple-double. As a freshman, she started every game at the 6A level, showing poise and maturity beyond her years.   She also has shooting range, which demands respect from defenders and opens the door for blow-bys on weak closeouts.   If you're looking for a point guard who can handle the ball, control the floor, and compete with a relentless will to win, keep your eyes on this young player over the next three years. Great start as a freshman     A freshman who still found her way onto the court on a senior-loaded team, showing she understands the daily commitment it takes to improve. She's an outside shooter who moves well without the ball, whether it's relocating for a knockdown three or attacking the rim.   Defensively, she has the lateral quickness and strength to guard positions 2 through 4 when needed. She embraces her role, even as a freshman on a highly talented, experienced team she is willing to make hustle plays like stepping in to take a charge.
