She played at her own pace, never rushed, and consistently made the right decisions with the ball in her hands. Bryant showed the ability to handle the ball, facilitate offense, and create for teammates, all while maintaining control. She was effective getting into the paint, where she used touch on her floater and made smart reads, whether scoring or delivering passes. She was a master of the baseline drive and dish into the middle of the defense. She delivered several dimes in the paint, and they were all momentum shifters. From the perimeter, Bryant was equally as good, knocking down threes when the opportunity presented itself. She was never in a hurry, and when she shot the ball, she was fully composed, hitting nothing but nets the majority of the time.

[player_tooltip player_id='1151383' first='Ruby' last='Patterson'] was a playmaker from the onset, producing from both the one and two guard positions. She seamlessly moved between roles, simply playing the game and making plays as opportunities presented themselves. Patterson got into the paint, attacked the rim, and was productive from the perimeter as well. Her ability to shoot off the dribble or on the catch separates her from many of her freshman peers. Her versatility and natural feel for the game allowed her to impact the game in a lot of ways. Patterson was also active on the defensive end, creating turnovers with on-ball pressure and playing in the passing lanes.

[player_tooltip player_id='248643' first='Naya' last='Hardisson'] was one of the most electrifying guards in the building, showing the ability to get anywhere on the floor she wanted. She handled the ball at a high level, created her own shot, and scored from both the perimeter and at the rim. Her creativity stood out, highlighted by a baseline drive where she finished with a reverse under the rim "special supreme" laup with all the toppings. She consistently put pressure on the defense as a primary offensive option and made teams pay with her ability to score, pass, draw fouls, and break the defense down.

Binaca Hall operated at a different level this weekend, especially while playing alongside a talented group. Her ability to adjust her scoring role somewhat, while still producing, highlighted her overall versatility. She showed the ability to get into the heart of the defense, where she operated effectively with a floater and drew defenders before making the right read. Time and time again, she created offense by collapsing the defense and delivering timely, crafty assists. Swift also demonstrated strong awareness, attacking baseline while still keeping her eyes on the middle of the floor to find open cutters and teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='515051' first='Ekklesia' last='Anderson'] was one of the top ball handlers in the building, creating problems all weekend with her control and shiftiness. She handled pressure with ease, breaking presses and making those situations look effortless. She shot the three well, got to the rim, and facilitated offense effectively. Despite being one of the smaller guards, her playmaking ability and command stood out, drawing attention from college coaches and evaluators in the building

[player_tooltip player_id='934760' first='Lillian' last='Sanchez'] showed strong guard play, especially in transition, where she knocked down pull-up threes and made quick decisions with the ball. She created offense off steals, attacked the rim, and made plays from both the perimeter and midrange. What separated Sanchez on the court was her quickness, anticipation, and speed. Her ability to play fast while staying under control really stood out.

[player_tooltip player_id='738971' first='Gabi' last='Iturralde'] handled the ball well and contributed as a playmaker from the guard position. Iturralde made good decisions with the ball in her hands, keeping the offense moving and organized. She played within the flow of the game, facilitating and helping create opportunities for her teammates. Iturralde also shot the ball well from the perimeter, got downhill and put pressure on the defense. Her steady presence, her ability to manage possessions, and dictate the action kept the defense on its heels. Itturalde's aggressiveness at the point guard position allowed her to lead with more efficiency, and it had a great impact on the final outcome.

From point guards to shooting guards to combo guards, these players consistently made plays all over the court. They didn't just create for themselves—they facilitated, defended, and elevated their teams. Whether it was breaking down defenders, making the right read, knocking down shots, or turning defense into offense, these guards impacted the game and the Sunshine Showdown in multiple ways.
