I saw a lot of talented guards at this year’s Sunshine Showdown, and Ekklesia Anderson Ekklesia Anderson 5'4" | PG Vero Beach | 2027 State FL ‘s performance was as memorable as any. Her speed and ability to score in transition stood out, as she consistently put pressure on opposing defenses from end to end. Anderson showcased excellent ball-handling skills, the ability to get downhill to the rim, a polished mid-range game, and knocked down the three-pointer both off the catch and off the dribble. She impacts the game on both ends of the floor with her energy and competitiveness. Anderson’s shiftiness, quick first step, crafty footwork, and ability to create space make her a difficult matchup and one of the top point guards in the 2027 class.

Anderson was one of the better floor generals who lead her team vocally and with her play at the all-important point guard position for Central Florida Elite. I saw Anderson up close at Live at Lakepoint recently and came away impressed with her ability to run her team. She does a good job relaying the call in from the bench to her teammates and then directed traffic like the school crossing guard. Anderson is an excellent ball handler and gets the ball where it needs to go in little to no wasted time or movement putting her teammates in the best position to score, something she is more than capable of doing herself. Anderson is a real threat that must be respected from three point range while also possessing the ability to get in the paint and cause problems, both on the break and in the half court.

As a freshman, she averaged 11.1 points per game, and it was clear that she had the tools to be a standout. As Anderson enters her senior season, she has definitely been a consistent standout and has represented the 2027 class well. She is quick, can get to the rim, handle the ball on a string, and can shoot from the perimeter. Anderson was sensational at the recent Sunshine Showdown, where she controlled the pace, handled the pressure, and delivered on both ends of the floor. Anderson’s name has always been recognizable as a reliable prospect, and she only enhanced that sentiment with her play over the spring.

Anderson is also a very good defender who pressures the ball hard and makes life difficult for opposing guards. Her combination of speed, athleticism, and burst makes her one of the most exciting guards in the 2027 class.

She has the ability to make the spectacular and “wow” play several times in a game. A lot of what she does is predicated on her speed and quickness and athleticism. During the SSS tournament, Anderson got to the rim and scored, especially in the transition game. Anderson’s has a very potent mid-range game and with her speed, it is a shot she can get off consistently. Defensively, she was outstanding with her on ball pressure.

Anderson picks them up and puts them down with great speed and athleticism. The guard has a good understanding of angles and leverage and watching her get to the rim was a treat. Anderson used a quick burst to explode to the rim or used the hesitation move to freeze the defender. She had some of the best finishes at the showcase and was getting to the rim against defenders who were much taller.
