These Midwest Kickoff workhorses left it all on the floor
In this article:
For many years in Minnesota, we have selected a Hard Hat All-Star team – once at the end of the AAU season and again when the high school campaign concludes. I'm not sure if we'll do the same in South Dakota but I know of two players who are a lock to make the list if we do. We watched

at the Midwest Kickoff in the Twin Cities last weekend and these two prospects wowed us with their work ethic, leaving it all on the floor in Bloomington. Here's the rundown on the two blue-collar battlers and a few more like them.

Yankton | 2027
State
SD
– 2027 guard, Sanford 17U White
Wolfgram is the kind of player who sets a tone the moment she steps on the floor. Built strong with a low center of gravity, the guard from Yankton plays bigger than her height and brings a relentless, high-revving motor on every possession. Defensively, she is an absolute pest, pressuring ball handlers, disrupting rhythm, and fueling the team's defensive efforts with constant energy and physicality. Wolfgram (top photo, right) never takes a play off. Offensively, Eden runs the show with composure, showing patience as a distributor while still being assertive when attacking off the bounce. Her quick first step and crafty handle allow her to create space, but it's her effort level that separates her. She competes, communicates, and fights for every inch which is exactly what you want in a lead guard.

Mitchell | 2029
SD
– 2029 guard, Sanford Sports 15U White
Pictured above left, Stoebner is one of the hardest-working players we've seen. Ever. When we watched the guard from Mitchell do work on Sunday she played every possession at full throttle, whether she was sprinting the floor, diving into traffic, or chasing down loose balls. She's strong, physical, and built to handle contact, but it is Sloan's motor that defines her. She simply refuses to let a play die. Even late in the game, when others were fading, Sloan was still pushing, still competing, still finding ways to impact the contest. The skill set isn't far behind the work rate. She can knock down shots from deep, deliver bullet passes in transition, and finish with touch around the basket. She communicates, leads, and elevates everyone around her. Players like this are rare and incredibly valuable at all levels in the college game.

Menahga | 2028
State
MN
– 2028 guard,
West Central United
Blue
Christiansen combines smooth scoring ability with a motor that keeps her constantly involved in the game. The Menahga guard attacks with confidence, using her handle and long strides to get wherever she wants on the floor, but what stands out is how hard she plays possession to possession. She defends with discipline, moves her feet, and uses her length to stay active without gambling. Dreah plays with joy and energy that's contagious, lifting her team with both effort and attitude. Whether she's scoring, defending, or creating for others, she consistently brings a competitive edge that makes her impact felt. Talent plus work equals success beyond measure.

Alyse Denne

Becker | 2030
MN
– 2030 guard,
Minnesota Fury
UAA
Denne is a relentless competitor who plays far bigger than her size. Every possession is an all-out effort of attacking the rim, pressuring the ball, or fighting through contact without hesitation. The diminutive guard from Becker is fearless, using her quick first step and tight handle to create opportunities, but it is the 8th grader's motor that makes Alyse special. Defensively, she's just as aggressive, getting into passing lanes and making life difficult for opponents. Even as an undersized guard, she refuses to back down and continues to compete at a high level from start to finish. Denne's toughness, energy, and work ethic make her a constant factor on the floor.

Macie Henrikson

Lakeville South | 2029
State
MN
– 2029 guard,
Minnesota Fury
UAA
Henrikson pairs high-level skill with a nonstop motor that shows up in every phase of the game. The Lakeville South workhorse competes relentlessly, crashing the glass, chasing loose balls, and defending with physicality and purpose. As the #8 prospect in the Class of 2029, Macie can obviously score at all three levels and push tempo, but it's her willingness to do the dirty work that stands out. She fights for extra possessions, absorbs contact, and keeps on coming. Macie competes with urgency and toughness, impacting games well beyond the box score. Her competitive fire and consistent effort make her one of the most reliable two-way players around.
