With recruiting periods happening and the portal now closed, college coaches are starting to build out the names they want to track over the next couple of years. The 2028 through 2030 classes are key groups that will be a big part of the future of high school basketball. Below are some players, in my opinion, who may not be getting the national spotlight just yet, but are definitely on the need to know list.

Dye has been the talk of Team Evans over these past couple of events, and when you see her play, you understand why. She is a highlight reel waiting to happen, and she does it all without much reaction. Defensively, she is a lockdown player and has no problem causing issues on that end. On the offensive side, you see flashes of a recent Whitney Young graduate. The handle is tight, the creativity is high, and her ability to create or find angles is there too. Keep Dye on your radar. HIGH POTENTIAL.

A player who plays twice her size on every possession, and there is no quit in her game whatsoever. She can score from all spots on the court, but I think she is at her best when she is in the open court or creating for others. She has full confidence in her ability as a playmaker, doesn't hesitate to make tough reads, and is always heads up on the break. Defensively, she brings a HIGH IQ and the pesky on ball pressure that can speed players up and make them uncomfortable. She is active, disruptive, and knows how to make plays without gambling too much. She will only get better.

Daniel is your classic forward who plays with pace and confidence, rather than strength and recklessness. Most lefties are solid to strong shooters, and Daniel fits right into that category. The one thing that may get overlooked is her ability to create a play out of a double team, and with her dominance in the low block area, that double is usually needed. A major stock riser.

Sedillo has always found a way to stand out on a court full of bigger guards. She has no issue attacking and going right at taller and stronger players. One of her biggest separating skills from those around her age group is her IQ. You can tell she understands how to be dominant in all facets on the offensive side. She is quick and decisive off handoffs and screens, and has no problem operating from the top of the key.

Harris continues to show how much of a two-way player she is, and she's not a player who just fits in. Defensively, she can deal with your best scorer and contain them to the point where they either get frustrated or force something into a turnover. The quick feet, strength, and ability to slide and cut players off are key to that. Offensively, she is relentless and can truly score at all levels, but she is at her best from the midrange on down.
