Young Prospects Who Set the Tone on Defense

In a game where scoring often gets the spotlight, defense still changes the game and shifts momentum. These young prospects are already showing the ability to pressure the ball, disrupt passing lanes, rotate with purpose, and compete on every possession. Here's a look at some of the 2028 and 2029 prospects who are making their presence felt on the defensive end of the floor. Wilson sets the tone on defense and loves to put pressure on the ball handler. Pierce has a great court presence on both sides of the floor and does a great job of anticipating the next play. She overplays the passing lanes and also plays aggressive defense on the ball to create turnovers. Her defense alone warranted MVP consideration.
