[player_tooltip player_id='1003136' first='Skylar' last='Wilson'] is an aggressive defender who really creates havoc on the floor. Wilson sets the tone on defense and loves to put pressure on the ball handler. What separates Wilson is her toughness and willingness to dive for the ball, take a hit while going for the ball, and mixing it up with the opposition to get to the loose balls. Wilson can cover her man for the length of the court or play in zones and intercept errant passes. Wilson can move her feet and cuts on driving angles with her speed on the floor. Her competitive nature on the defensive side of the ball sets the tone.

Kristyonna Harris is a talented defensive prospect who takes great satisfaction locking down players and sending shots the other way. Harris is fast, athletic, and versatile on the defensive end. At the recent Sunshine Showdown, Harris showed versatility with her ability to cut off driving angles on the perimeter and her ability to block shots in the paint. Harris is definitely a tone setter who takes great pride being known as a defensive stopper.

[player_tooltip player_id='1090912' first='Mamie' last='Burkett'] always sets the tone on defense. From the time she is in the game, she is battling the opposing forward. There is going to be some mixing it up when battling for the rebound. There will be physical contact when a player tries to post up on the blocks. Burkett p[lays with an edge on the floor. She communicates well but loves the physical contact. She sets the tone when she comes into the game and is the type of player who causes teammates to follow.

After several years on varsity as a freshman and sophomore, Pierce brings experience to the court. The young guard is a selfless player who does whatever it takes for her team to win. Pierce has a great court presence on both sides of the floor and does a great job of anticipating the next play. She overplays the passing lanes and also plays aggressive defense on the ball to create turnovers.

In the Rural semifinals of some one has asked d who is the best athlete on the floor a lot of hands would have been raised in favor of Thomas. She is physical, fast, and has the ability to impose her will on the game. Thomas forced turnover after turnover and would have been the game's MVP without a double digit point effort. Her defense alone warranted MVP consideration.
