2028 Rankings Update: New Additions

Multiple players make their debut on the newest update of rankings in the 2028 class in Georgia. Some players may have stuck behind a go jam of players ahead of them like [player_tooltip player_id='968086' first='Elle' last='Sellers'] at their high school, but have produced big results with their travel teams. Other players like [player_tooltip player_id='1756360' first='Akudo' last='Ojeme'] are fairly new to the country and the state and their productivity on the high school and travel ball circuits earned them a spot on the list. Others, like [player_tooltip player_id='1726710' first='Camille' last='Nix'], just hadn't been found yet, but her play over the course of several evaluations this regular season warranted her inclusion on th list as well. All of the players have different reasons for not being on th list prior, but all deserve the spot they have earned.    Elle plays for Kell (would have won the championship in the AAAA division if it weren't for Kate Harpring) who just graduated Kennedy Deese and has several other high level prospects on their roster at her position. Because of this I had not seen Elle play prior to travel ball season. Her length and athleticism are ideal at nearly six feet tall with a long wing span. She also has the game to go along with her physical gifts. Her ability to slash to the basket and rebound the basketball while guarding five positions has earned her interest from several division one schools inside and out of the state of Georgia and she could easily pick up offers with solid performances at Elite Camps and a strong performance with Select Events in July.     Camille is a player I saw multiple times in the regular season and region tournament for North Hall, including a huge upset over then top 10 ranked GAC. Nix was like a composer leading the orchestra that game as she dished out several assists and scored a lot of points herself in the big win. She was excellent he other times I saw her team play as well. She plays taller and longer than what her height says on the roster. She is fundamentally very sound with the ball and makes very good decisions. Nix is an elite shooter from the perimeter and she made multiple shots from three point range and 10-15 feet in the games I saw. Camille is one of the more underrated players in the state in my opinion.     Mountain was another player I had not seen heading into the Spring and Summer, but her performance over the course of three days at Peach Games was strong enough for her to enter the list and the top ten. Mountain did a very good job mixing her scoring duties with running the offense when she was at the point guard position. Mountain has very good speed and quickness to go along with very good ball handling, so it was no surprise she thrived in the high pace of the games Team Hubbard Elite played in. Mountain scored from all three levels efficiently without turning the ball over or trying to make plays that were not there. She is a player that with more evaluations and solid play on the court will continue to move up in the rankings.     Ojeme has been in the country less than two years, but she has drawn the interest of several colleges, on all levels, with her size, athleticism, and academic prowess. She is currently back home in Europe with German National team trying to make their 16U squad for FIBA. Akudo's game continues to develop, but with her elite athletic ability, length, and height she has been thriving in the paint during travel ball. She has been dominant on the glass on both ends of the court and she has been very effective scoring the ball on put backs. Ojeme is a natural southpaw which gives her a different look for the post players trying to defend her. She elevates quickly and has the ability to rise up over defenders or finish through contact at the rim. Akudo has drawn praise from college coaches, opposing coaches, evaluators, and event directors like her front court mate [player_tooltip player_id='968086' first='Elle' last='Sellers']. The two have both been outstanding for [program_tooltip program_id='1819777' first='[program_tooltip program_id='713452' first='FBC' last='']' last='NextUp'] this Spring and so far this Summer.     Kayden is another "big", like Sellers and Ojeme, who has drawn rave reviews from basketball people who have watched her play with [program_tooltip program_id='713173' first='Wood' last='Elite']. Like Akudo and Elle, Kayden has natural gifts that you can't coach or train with players. At over six feet tall and with the fluidity and grace she moves with, it is hard not to notice Kayden on the court. She is a kid whose best basketball is way ahead of her and with continued work on offensive skill develop could find herself higher on the list in a year's time. She possesses the skills and ability to impact the game defensively blocking and altering shots, as well as dominating the glass on both ends. There is a lot of potential for growth for Kayden and college offers will follow no doubt.     Azelia was very good for AAAA state champion Marist coming off the bench in spurts in the regular season, the region tournament, and the state playoffs. She has continued her good play on the Nike circuit and other events throughout the Spring and Summer with [program_tooltip program_id='1250230' first='Winners' last='United'] 16U EYCL team. She has a similar role coming off the bench for the very talented group of sophomores and juniors from the around the state. Now that June has almost arrived, Shell will be counted on to produce more for Marist with the departure of Harpring and the other seniors. A tall task that no one person could accomplish, but her physicality and ability to attack the basket give her a chance to help replace their productivity. I have seen Azelia shoot the ball from the perimeter, specifically behind the three point line while watching her in the past. She is a player who has her opportunity now with the Lady Eagles and I expect her to take advantage of it in June and when the regular season starts in the Fall.
