One thing that I have noticed about girls in other states is their versatility and size. I have seen girls 6'1 and above work differently than traditionally playing with their backs to the basket. Seeing this made me realize that being big, you have to do a multitude of things to attract the eyes of collegiate coaches.   Gone are the days when you just occupy the blocks. Nowadays, bigs must be able to stretch the floor, exploit the mid-range, and still dominate the low block areas. We already have some talented girls who do that. In my opinion, we will see more bigs jump onto the recruiting scene over the next couple of months. Our girls have been battle-tested, added multiple skillsets to their game, trained to become more versatile and athletic, and are becoming dominant in their style of play. One thing I am seeing is that they are more accountable and are owning their opportunities. None of these young ladies is a finished product, but they are becoming solid contributors to their team's success.   Here are some bigs in our state who are about to jump on the radars of collegiate coaches.    Young, talented, and raw, she is learning and becoming a solid post player. Picking up the nuances of the game, she is developing a bag of moves in the low block. She can stretch the floor, knock down the mid-range, but one attribute of hers that really stands out is her ability to block shots. She contributes on the boards, brings energy and effort; this kid is on an upward trajectory.     Solid kid who is expanding her game. She's a walking double-double kid, finishing ways to put the ball in the hole along with her ability to grab boards. She's a tough kid down low, one who isn't afraid to mix it up and be physical. She's shown tremendous growth over the early part of her high school career and has done nothing but get better. Keep tabs on this young lady as she is one of the top talented low-post players in the 901 area. If coaches are looking for a workhorse in the middle, this young lady checks that box.     One of the hottest names around, this kid is super tough as she finds ways to put the ball in the net. Posting up, she muscles through the opposition, leaving them behind. Using her body, she knows how to finagle herself and finish at the rim. From passing out of double teams to stepping out from the block and knocking down mid-range shots, she's become one of the more effective post players, especially on the offensive end. Defensively, she's top-notch. Gaining rebounds and blocking shots, she makes it hard for opponents to work. Her stock is rising, and her level of playing is on the upswing, too.     An undersized post who can do a multitude of things. She can work block to block, catch at the high post to score, or put it on the floor and finish. She can step out and knock down 3 as well as be utilized in the screen game. She's an effective rebounder and one who isn't afraid to battle down low. She's a solid rim runner and will beat her opponent down the floor to receive a pass over the top. This kid's game is still going. She's a hardworking individual ready to showcase her talent to schools.
