About Destini
Expert Analysis
Brandon Tinnon | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Young, talented, and raw, she is learning and becoming a solid post player. Picking up the nuances of the game, she is developing a bag of moves in the low block. She can stretch the floor, knock down the mid-range, but one attribute of hers that really stands out is her ability to block shots. She contributes on the boards, brings energy and effort; this kid is on an upward trajectory.

is one of the better back-to-the-basket scorers at the center position in the class of 2028.
If Ligons gets the ball in the post, more times than not, she is generating an ideal shot. She has a high offensive IQ and reads what her assigned defender does, as well as what potential help defenders may do. She can score off fallaway little float shots and jumpers down low, and can also score just by using her strength to create an open layup.
On defense, Ligons moves extremely well. She is a great help-side defender. Many times last season for Blackman High School, she generated steals by getting in passing lanes. Also, she blocked plenty of shots by sliding over on defense and using her height and athleticism to shut down what would have been open looks. Ligons is also usually the best rebounder on the floor when she plays. She is always a player who is capable of logging a double-double.

Destini brought size, mobility, and defensive instincts to the floor. She consistently put herself in position to rebound, boxed out effectively, and hustled on every possession. Offensively, she flashed the potential to stretch the floor with her outside shooting touch. Defensively, she had multiple standout moments as she did a good job blocking shots and showing text book close outs when closing out hard on the perimeter. Her effort and activity level set her apart.

, in her freshman season, showed a lot of promising traits at the center position. One of her main skills she showcased was her shot blocking. In that she showed at 6’0″, she could use her size as an advantage, and showed athleticism with thus skill . Unlike many bigs at the high school level Ligons, gets off the ground on her shot blocks and contests.
This athletic ability she has is also seen on the offensive end, where she has plus speed and runs in transition well.

A solid big who can dominate the painted area. She is going to give you buckets around the blocks and the high post area. However, it’s her defense that stands out in my opinion. She is a shot blocker, one who can deter someone from getting to the rim. She rebounds the basketball well, giving her squad the opportunity to gain extra possessions. She is one that is on the rise and a kid you will need to keep your eye on.

This kid is starting to come into her own. She is a solid two-way player who can dominate the painted areas. She has nice moves around the rim where she can finish possession. Her greatest strength is on the defensive end, where she can block shots like no other. She is a tough defender who makes it hard for people to score around the rim. There were multiple games I saw where she had 5 or more blocks, instilling fear in those who even tried to come near the basket. This kid is on the upswing and is about to take off. Keep tabs on this young lady as she will be a contributor for her ball club in more ways than one.

This young lady is blossoming into a gritty ballplayer. She is a solid kid who can score the basketball, but is a beast, especially on the defensive end. Her length poses as a threat to opponents as she can block shots like no other. In one game, she swatted up to 9 blocks, sending them away from the basketball. She should have been waving her finger like Mutumbo, because there was no way the other team was going to score down low. Offensively, Destini possesses nice footwork along the blocks that enables her to put the ball in the hole over either shoulder. Keep your eyes on this young lady because she is about to take off.

This young lady is on the rise. Offensively, she is great in the screen game, knocks it down from the 15ft range consistently, and can finish in the painted area with power. Defensively, she uses her size to block shots and she controls the boards with two hands, finds her outlet teammates and then its off to the races. I love her ability to run her lane and catch balls over the top to finish. This young lady isn’t done growing as a player and I expect her to become one the next solid bigs from the Lady Blaze program.
