The Hoosier Crossroads Conference once again looks like one of the toughest leagues in the state entering the upcoming girls basketball season. Several teams return experienced cores, high-level talent, and players ready to step into bigger roles. Heading into the year, Westfield and Zionsville appear to be the early favorites to compete for the conference championship because of their returning experience, star power, and proven ability to win big games. At the same time, programs like Franklin Central and Hamilton Southeastern have the talent to challenge anyone on a nightly basis, making the conference race one of the most competitive storylines in Indiana basketball.

Fishers Tigers

Fishers enters the season with one of the most experienced and battle-tested senior groups in the conference. This 2027 class has consistently won at every level, losing only one game during their freshman season before following it up with a dominant 20-1 JV campaign. That success and chemistry should translate well as they take over major varsity responsibilities this season.

The Tigers play with confidence, discipline, and toughness. Their familiarity with each other allows them to play fast and efficiently while understanding team concepts on both ends of the floor. Fishers may not rely on one single player every night, but their collective experience and winning background make them a dangerous team capable of competing with anyone in the conference.

Brownsburg Bulldogs

Brownsburg continues to build toward the future and could become one of the more exciting young teams in the conference. The addition of a talented 2030 class led by Quinn Sowder gives the Bulldogs a strong foundation moving forward. Sowder brings skill, confidence, and a high ceiling that should immediately impact the program.

The Bulldogs are expected to blend youth with returning experience while continuing to develop their identity. Brownsburg has traditionally played with physicality and energy, and this upcoming group appears capable of continuing that trend. While they may still be developing consistency, the talent level within the program continues to rise.

Hamilton Southeastern Royals

Hamilton Southeastern will look much different this season after graduating two all-time program greats in Kayla Stidham and KK Holman. Even with those major departures, the Royals still have plenty of talent and should once again be highly competitive within the conference.

HSE projects to be a very guard-heavy team this season, relying on speed, ball movement, and perimeter play to create offense. The Royals have several players ready to step into larger roles, and their depth in the backcourt should allow them to pressure teams offensively and defensively. While replacing the leadership and production of Stidham and Holman will not be easy, Hamilton Southeastern still has the pieces to remain one of the tougher teams in the conference.

Zionsville Eagles

Zionsville enters the season as one of the clear favorites to compete for the HCC championship. The return of standout players [player_tooltip player_id='579969' first='McKenzie' last='Chapman'] and [player_tooltip player_id='890889' first='Emily' last='Zack'] gives the Eagles one of the strongest returning cores in the conference. Their experience, leadership, and ability to impact games on both ends make Zionsville a dangerous team every night.

Chapman and Zack provide stability offensively while also bringing toughness and versatility defensively. Zionsville's ability to execute in half-court situations, defend at a high level, and play with discipline makes them a difficult matchup. With key returning pieces already in place, the Eagles have the talent and experience necessary to make a deep postseason run while contending for a conference title.

Noblesville Millers

Noblesville could quietly emerge as one of the surprise teams in the conference this season. With a new head coach leading the program, the Millers enter the year somewhat under the radar despite having players capable of competing with top teams in the HCC.

The change in leadership could bring renewed energy and a fresh identity to the program. Noblesville has the potential to become a disciplined and competitive group that improves throughout the season. If the Millers can quickly adjust to the new system and develop consistency, they could become one of the tougher matchups in conference play.

Westfield Shamrocks

Westfield enters the season as another favorite to win the conference thanks to the return of star guards [player_tooltip player_id='1267070' first='Lillian' last='Clark'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1263930' first='Gabby' last='Bassett']. Their leadership, scoring ability, and experience playing in major games give the Shamrocks one of the most talented backcourts in Indiana.

Clark and Bassett complement each other extremely well and provide Westfield with strong perimeter scoring, playmaking, and defensive intensity. The Shamrocks play with confidence and pace, and their returning core should allow them to compete for both conference and postseason championships. Westfield's experience and guard play make them one of the teams every opponent will have circled on the schedule this year.

Avon Orioles

Avon enters the season with a young but improving roster after earning several quality wins last year. The Orioles gained valuable experience throughout the season, and that development should help them take another step forward this year.

The young core has shown flashes of athleticism, toughness, and offensive potential. Avon's ability to continue developing chemistry and consistency will determine how quickly they rise within the conference standings. While still one of the younger teams in the HCC, the Orioles appear positioned for long-term success and could surprise teams throughout the season.

Franklin Central Flashes

Franklin Central enters the year as one of the top teams in the state and a serious contender to win a state championship. The Flashes return an experienced senior class that understands how to compete in big moments while also adding talented young guards and post players to an already loaded roster.

Their balance, depth, and athleticism make them extremely difficult to defend. Franklin Central can pressure opponents defensively, score in transition, and execute efficiently in the half court. The veteran leadership combined with emerging young talent gives the Flashes one of the most complete rosters in Indiana. Expectations will be high, and Franklin Central has all the pieces necessary to make a deep championship run.
