Kentucky Girls Who Shined Brightly at The Classic, Part 2

Live Periods just hit differently. Nearly 50 courts packed the Expo Center in Louisville with talented teams and college coaches from all over the country. Every court had energy, high-level competition, and players stepping up in big moments. From elite shot making to lockdown defense, these girls made sure people noticed and proved why Kentucky girls basketball continues to rise.    Katie was outstanding all weekend long and impacted the game in multiple ways. She was a major difference maker on both ends of the floor with her versatility, toughness, and physical strength. Katie knocked down jump shots consistently, attacked the rim with confidence, and battled hard on the glass. Her ability to contribute in every phase of the game makes her a player coaches love having on the floor.     Greta played a tremendous weekend and showcased a very high basketball IQ. The talented guard sees the floor extremely well, attacks driving angles with patience, and can really shoot it from deep. Greta constantly made defenders pay for mistakes and kept pressure on opposing defenses with her decision making. She also brought strong effort defensively and competed hard every possession.     Kelbie put together a very strong showing throughout the event. She is an extremely versatile scorer who can hurt defenses in a variety of ways. Kelbie mixed strength with explosive quickness to create problems for defenders every game. Defensively, her athleticism stood out as she created havoc with her energy, speed, and ability to disrupt plays.     Elaine brought toughness and relentless energy every time she stepped on the floor. She is an aggressive athlete who gets downhill quickly and finishes through contact with confidence. Elaine was also a pesky defender who made life difficult for opposing guards all weekend. Offensively, she showed the ability to score at all three levels while playing with a nonstop motor that never slowed down.     Kaleigh is a reliable, high-IQ player who can comfortably operate at the point guard position with her ball handling and shifty movements. She always remains a threat from the perimeter and plays with nonstop energy. Kaleigh pushes herself to the limit and competes hard every second she is on the floor. Her toughness, pace, and willingness to do whatever is needed stood out throughout the weekend.     Alese really had an awesome tournament and continued to show why she is a young player to watch. She flashed her ability as a talented scorer, but her rebounding and defensive presence may have been even more impressive. Alese consistently made winning plays, competed hard every possession, and brought energy that lifted her team. She is the kind of player every coach wants because she impacts the game in so many ways.     Addalyn absolutely shot the lights out from deep this weekend. Her perimeter shooting forced defenders to extend, which opened up driving lanes where she attacked the rim or created opportunities for teammates. Addalyn also brought aggressive defense and excellent speed that helped create numerous turnovers. She played with confidence on both ends and gave opponents problems all tournament long.     Bailee impressed with her maturity and feel for the game at such a young age. She handled ball pressure extremely well, made smart reads, and did an excellent job controlling the pace and tone offensively. Bailee facilitated well for teammates, consistently putting them in good positions to score. She also had several strong drives and finishes while showing the ability to knock down perimeter shots. High IQ, skilled, and plays incredibly hard every possession.
