PGH MI State Tournament: She's a Natural

The PGH Michigan State Tournament was a slam dunk again this year, and that's a testament to so many great prospects giving their all throughout the tournament. Seeing new prospects stand out, while having the opportunity to further evaluate familiar prospects, has been an absolute blast throughout the spring during PGH Circuit competition. Many clubs featuring talented prospects from Michigan and states across the Midwest competed at the PGH Michigan State Tournament. Addison was a stellar guard for B Edwards Elite at the PGH Michigan State Tournament. She slashed through gaps off the dribble to score layups, finished well off two feet, and knocked down the open three. Addison displayed shifty crossover dribbles and got downhill with a burst off the bounce. She used a jab step and drove right by the defender then scored through contact at the rim. Addison used textbook denial technique on a cutter to intercept the entry pass and immediately created a transition scoring opportunity by pushing the ball up the court with both hands. She has a high IQ on defense and jumped into the passing lanes to generate steals.     Haley came to the PGH Michigan State Tournament with B Edwards Elite 17U, and she was one of the most dominant forward prospects in the gym. Strong, physical, long, skilled in the post, can handle the ball with both hands, and is comfortable shooting the three--that's how you catch the eye of college coaches as a forward. Haley scored with power in the paint, including a strong and-one spin layup with her left after securing an offensive rebound off a free throw attempt. She muscled through contact for another and-one layup, then knocked down the free throw with confidence. Haley finished well off two feet, protected the rim as a shot blocker, won rebounding battles, anticipated passes to create steals, and moved well without the ball.     Kaylee is a dynamic guard prospect who has consistently impressed our scouts throughout the spring on the PGH Circuit. That continued at the PGH Michigan State Tournament. Kaylee created driving lanes with her quick-twitch, shifty crossover dribbles, then drove straight to the basket for layups and trips to the free throw line. She's deadly from beyond the arc and drained a deep wing three from way downtown. Kaylee swished a silky smooth pull-up jumper from the wing, crashed the glass to score a putback with her inside hand, and swiped an inbounds pass on defense. I made a note of her quickness of the dribble, and she's been a big stock riser for [program_tooltip program_id='1831436' first='MBA' last='[program_tooltip program_id='952340' first='The' last='House']'] 17U.     Amor made her presence felt for [program_tooltip program_id='714458' first='Michigan' last='Cobras'] 17U at the PGH Michigan State Tournament. Her high motor, defensive effort, and all-around impact stood out. Amor swiped the ball, pushed it the other way with pace using both hands, and finished with a smooth layup. Her aggressive on-ball pressure created steals, and she scanned the court in transition while switching hands comfortably. Amor made the hustle plays and worked hard to secure rebounds on both ends.     Gracie had an impressive weekend for [program_tooltip program_id='715424' first='The' last='Naturals'] 17U during the PGH Michigan State Tournament. She's a playmaker who checks every box as a lead guard. She crashed the boards to score a putback with her left and scored many putbacks comfortably with either hand throughout the tournament. Graice scored using crafty footwork and touch in contested situations. Her poise and vision resulted in multiple assists to cutters and open teammates. Gracie drove hard in transition, landed with a jump stop, let the defender fly by, then scored off two feet. She transfers the ball well in stride to score layups after cutting to the basket and moves to open space. Gracie consistently found the bottom of the net, burying threes from different spots around the arc. She went by with a burst from the corner to score a strong and-one bucket through contact, then tacked on the free throw. Gracie was a major stock-riser over the weekend.
