It still doesn't quite feel like AAU season is in full swing, but we're coming up on the second viewing period of the grassroots season in just over a week. I will be down in Louisville, Kentucky, for The Classic, and teams from Wisconsin will be all over the place at various events around the country. I have yet to see numerous players from around the state, and today, I'll highlight a handful of players I plan to see at some point between now and the end of July, and some as soon as this coming weekend in Appleton.

I have discussed what Schenkenberg brings to the floor for a while. However, I'm eager to see how comfortable she looks against similarly talented players, more so than she'd see at the high school playing for Shell Lake. She has shown she can be a double-double kid every time she steps on the floor, and I'm eager to see her for the first time in person since last AAU season.

The Rhinelander has played alongside talented lead guards in her previous AAU season, next to an uber-talented guard in Beckett Greenway, and alongside her sister in high school, who will likely play at a scholarship program at the next level. She is a player who can space the floor and knock down perimeter jumpers, and I'm eager to see her in a new setting again within North Tartan's program in Minnesota.

The Kettle Moraine guard came into her own this past high school season and was comfortable being the focal point of the Lasers' offense. She shot the ball well and was comfortable attacking the basket and making plays in the paint. There is still plenty of room for growth, but she will be a fun player to watch with her [program_tooltip program_id='713045' first='Wisconsin' last='Lakers'] UAA team this spring and summer.

I've talked about the athletic tools, and everyone I know who's seen her play has all had nothing but good things to say about her after seeing what she can do. Schwem has the athletic tools to be an excellent two-way player, and her athleticism has translated against better competition at the grassroots level. There is usually a handful of players who help themselves more than anyone else in the state every AAU season, and there is a real chance Schwem turns more heads than anyone expected by the time it's all said and done.
