Cowherd has been a game-controller with her slow and steady play this Spring AAU season on the road. She has been able to manipulate the ball each game and control things like pace of play for her squad when the rock is in her possession. She has also demonstrated that she has a well rounded game overall as a rebounded, defender, and mover off of the ball. At some point I think Cowherd could be PG #1 at Dowling Catholic. She needs to keep working but for her age, she definitely is someone that is turning heads right now out of the 2030 Class.

B. Joens is going to be a great shooter of the basketball at the Varsity level over the next four years. She comes from a long line of ballers and her game is similar. She can shoot it at a high clip from every distance on the floor over half court but she is smart enough to know when she is overplayed. When those situations happen she can fake and get to other spots off the dribble. As a defender, she holds her ground going either direction. She has active hands and she communicates well with those around her on screening action, untimely making it easier for everyone around her. Don't be surprised if you hear Joens name a good amount this Winter. She can hoop and she is only going to get better with experience.

I'm not sure if Venner will crack the Varsity lineup this Winter for St. Albert as they return most but she is definitely going to be someone to know out of this program over the next few years. Her Will and determination speak values as to how much this game means to her. She always leaves it on the hardwood, on both ends, and she always keeps that positive energy. I would consider this someone who could be your Swiss-army knife type prospect. She is going to handle her business on defense and on offense, she'll do her best in whichever situation she is put in. All in all, Venner has a solid future in this game if she keeps working.

Lauren Harkins might be the most complete overall guard that this Class has right now. That is to be determined over the next few years but in the meantime, she is going to come onto the Varsity floor and cause some havoc this Winter. She is someone that her team is going to be able to trust to be there when they need her, she is diverse within her scoring ability all over the court, and she is scrappy on defense. That's not always enough to compete at a high rate at the 5A level but we will see. She has been nails over her high school career so she just needs to build onto that once she hits the Varsity floor in a few short months.

Would not be shocked if Harlow Heath is seeing some playing time at the Varsity level this Winter for Ankeny Centennial. Even though this team went to State last season, Health is lengthy and talented enough to make an impact on either side of the ball if she gets the opportunity. Sometimes she gets shadowed off her EYBL team because it is stacked but when she gets on the Varsity floor this Winter, she might turn out to be a valid option for the Jaguars as the season unfolds. She produces off the ball at a better than average rate and anyone who can do that, knock down shoots, and defend, should be able to produce at the highest level within this state but we will just have to see how it plays out.

Allie Stephenson might have to work within her team's system before she gets a shot to compete at the Varsity level but either way, once she gets there she is the type that could take over and make the program her's by her leadership. Stephenson comes down the floor as another nimble PG. She is crafty and she gets to her spots while attacking the defense almost at Will. She is more of a creator and facilitator to those around her but that's what makes her an intriguing prospect. She can also get her own if need be but she gets just as much joy Assisting others as she does scoring and that speaks volumes. Waukee will be loaded up with talented guards of all ages. As long as they use them correctly, they will be hard to stop if they can get out and push things in transition.
