Jordann Oakland of Cedar Falls High School will be a value piece this Winter to their overall game-plan on the Varsity floor, just like she has been the last few years. Oakland is a talented prospect at the SG position. She is really solid playing off the ball as an able producer from all offensive levels and she holds her own defensively as well as someone that can beat her opponents to their spots coming down the court. Oakland will be looked upon to be one of her team's leaders this upcoming season for her Senior year. If she can do that and play with confidence, she is going to love how her high school career comes to a close before playing at the next level one day.

Ava Carolan of West Lyon is an intriguing player when you break down her film and what she likes to do when she competes. Carolan is lengthier than most at 6'0 at the CG position and she is NOT afraid to let it go from deep. As a Junior she launched 255 total shots with 150 of them being from behind the three point line but hold the phone. Carolan isn't just the type to let it go every time she touches it. Instead, she is the type that wants to rebound, create steals defensively, all while being a good teammate to those around her. She never wants to seem selfish or like she is better than anyone else. Overall she has great size and ambition for her position. She was one of her team's leading scorers a season ago and that should be the case once again during her Senior campaign as well these next eight months.

There aren't too many prospects throughout Iowa that averaged a double-double last season at the Varsity level under the bucket but Chloe Alesch for MMCRU was one of those players with 12.7 PPG (47%) and 9.8 RPG while leading her team to an overall 13-10. Alesch was their source near the lane on both sides of the ball. She controlled everything happening between the blocks on both offense and defense, always being a focal point to their system and what they were trying to accomplish. I'm sure for her Senior season we are going to see much of the same. Their leading Guard from a year ago was also a Junior so as long as they return with the right goals in mind as a team, they should produce at high rates all Winter long.

The Meskwaki Settlement Warriors won the Iowa Stars South Conference last season when they posted an 18-4 record overall, 11-1 in conference and they are looking to build on that this upcoming season. Their leader in charge then, who will be in charge once again this year is Dorothy Bear at the CG/SF position. Bear led the group with over 15 PPG, 8 RPG, and 2.8 APG as a Junior and she is looking to post even better stats for her Senior year but it's important to note that all Bear cares about is winning with her team. She could care less about individual stats and that speaks to who she is a human being more than anything else. She can obviously play a little bit with these numbers and she is going to do everything in her power to put together an even better record this Winter for her last go-around at the high school level before graduating.

Bella Jo Dunning is sometimes overlooked because she has some ballers on the roster at her Class level at Algona but she shouldn't be. She contributes as good amount and she makes meaningful plays almost every contest in one way or another. She is someone that plays more of a SF position than anything else, working off of those around her. She understands spacing and the inner dynamics of the game of basketball, which helps her find those moments of opportunity near and far from the basket. As a Junior Bella averaged just over 11 PPG, demonstrating she knows how to take care of business so hopefully she can build on that going into this upcoming season once again!
