Yesterday was the first of two Badgers Elite Camps I attended, and there were plenty of young and talented kids from around the state and beyond. In all honesty, these two days of camp may have the most individual talent I've seen in the past three years since I've come to Madison for Elite Camps. Today, before Day Two gets rolling, we'll look at a few players who impressed on Day One of camp.

Marshall has the potential to be one of the more talented kids in the younger age groups in the state and was impressive yesterday morning and afternoon. Her ability to create with the ball in her hands is impressive, and she was confident for the five hours she was here. She has plenty of time to grow as a 2031 and has all the tools to be a player we're talking about for the next five years and beyond.

Yesterday was the first time I'd seen Brown play, and she was impressive. She passes the eye test with ease, and has the athleticism to overwhelm players at the younger age levels. I thought she excelled at attacking the rim and using her motor to make extra-effort plays in competitive drills or in 5v5 portions of camp. There's plenty of room to grow, but the athleticism will play at the high school level.

The future Elkhorn Elk is one of the more complete players in her class. Lile can play with the ball in her hands and make plays for others after putting the ball on the floor. She can space the floor and has the size, footwork, and skill to make plays around the basket. She has a way of making challenging plays on the floor look easy, and she's still incredibly young. Lile is a player with the potential to continue growing and excel at the high school level and beyond.

The post player from Sun Prairie is one of the more skilled posts in a talented class of players around Wisconsin. She does the fundamental things well, like pivoting in the post, rebounding while keeping the ball high, and finishing around the basket. Post players usually come along slower than guards do, and I already love where she's at heading into high school. She can continue to grow by getting more comfortable with her off-hand and making plays around the basket. She's one to keep tabs on.
