Our third addition for stock risers in May has some 2027 and 2028 players that should be on radars of college coaches. Over the next few weeks we will continue to profile players that made a jump in the live period last month and could be poised for a breakout in July. Part one is here and you can also read part two if you missed it.

Tatum's late addition to the ETG 17U team gives them multiple options at point guard. Our fourth-ranked player in the 2028 class, Tatum can help a team in multiple ways, but is excellent off the dribble getting to the basket and she can also create opportunities for her teammates. But, at her heart, Tatum is a "score first" point guard who led Bellevue West with 18.0 points per game last year while adding nearly three assists and four rebounds per contest. Shot 40% from the field last season and 31% from 3-point range and if those marks ticked up just 3-4% would move her game (and recruiting) to the next level. Tatum had a pair of double figure games for ETG at Live at the Lakes.

Kay is another of Omaha Westside's class of 2027 that play together on the Nebraska Attack RISE 17U team that had an excellent May winning the Live at the Lakes event in their division. This group can also be a contending team in Class A next season. Kay is a guard with excellent length at 5-9 and she scored 23 points in four games in Minnesota. The Warriors were 22-6 last year and Kay was their third leading scorer at 8.3 points per game. She also grabbed 4.1 rebounds per game and had 2.1 assists while leading Westside in steals a 1.6 per contest. Kay is a under-the-radar uncommitted prospect in the 2027 class.

Rooney's summer has been off to an excellent start for both the Nebraska Attack 16U UAA team and reports from Millard West are she is a true leader for her team in summer league games as well. You can learn a lot playing with Minnesota pledge Kylee Paben and Rooney has done just that. She'll be expected to call on a lead role in the winter after averaging 7.7 (second for the 'Cats) and 3.7 assists per game as a sophomore. College coaches should love the length on Rooney as well (there are a load of long guards and wings in the Metro) and her elite passing ability. If Mooney can continue to her improve her shooting, the sky is the limit to her potential.

Hansen is a proven winner who will have a new role for her high school team in 2026-27. But, first, she's playing at a very high level for the Nebraska Supreme 16U team on the Puma circuit. Hansen is a long wing at 5-11, who can play inside and outside at the Class C-2 level for the four-time champion Pendragons. But, she's also an excellent shooter. As a sophomore, Hansen averaged 10.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game and shot 42 percent from the field. She did this on just over eight shots per game with over two-thirds of them coming from behind the 3-point line. With the graduation of Hadley Walsh and Madalyn Dolliver, expect Hansen's game to become more balance and to use her presence inside a bit more.
