Standing Tall: Top Post Players at Prime Event East

There was a lot to take in at the Prime Event East and the post players were plentiful. Here are some of the top players in the most sought after position in basketball.    Ara was constantly reminded that she was 6'2" and the biggest player on the court. Once that set in there was no stopping her. She went up high and secured every rebound, she settled down in the paint and went up strong for finishes. She also jumped a perimeter pass and took the ball three quarters court to finish but was fouled. She calmly stepped up to make her free throws with a good form and nice touch, showing that a thirteen footer is within her range.     Makayla showed strength inside but she was surprisingly very nimble on the court. She drove transition and showed a little razzle dazzle with her Kyrie like finish. She also looked to show off her range from beyond the arc. She is very skilled and athletic despite having the frame built for banging it out inside. She showed effectiveness in the post and in the perimeter.     Emily stood close to 6'5" and had an established perimeter skillset. She shot the ball well from the three and spent a lot of time outside of the arc. Even when she missed her shot looked very fluid and in rhythm. She cut to the basket and caught the ball in stride for the finish, and a few times she did go in the paint to post and was able to use her height advantage to score or clean up the glass.     Charlee was not afraid to mix it up inside with anyone. When she got the ball in the paint she looked to seek out the contact to get the whistle with her basket. She finished well inside using the drop step as her go to move. She was effective at the high post attacking the basket with one or two dribbles to get to her sweet spot. She is a physical and active interior player that will continue to improve.     Laniyah had a plethora of fakes and she is willing to pull them all out on a single play. She finished with short turnaround jumpers, up and under moves and whatever it took to get a clean shot off. She also attacked well from the high post after turning and facing into the triple threat. Her moves seemed instinctive and not pre-meditated and she seemed to always have a counter move on standby ready to go.
