Summer Update: 2030 Wings-Forwards

Each summer, we like to put out a Watch List for the incoming freshman class. These are players from across the state that we have become familiar with through observations of their play during middle school, AAU, and showcases. The Headliners Invitational Showcase and observations of the 2030 class at travel tournaments over the past year have helped us expedite the process of identifying the next great high school prospects. Every kid on the Watch List is expected to be a key contributor to their high school program and is on track to have college opportunities at various levels.   The Watch List is not a ranking. The Watch List includes prospects we've evaluated from many clubs who are projected to play college basketball in some capacity, but it's much too early to predict where each kid will end up in the rankings. With physical maturation and exponential fundamental growth still in play, nothing is close to being determined yet. There are several prospects on the list who are competing for a high ranking, and we hope to see the freshman put their talent on full display at our staple Freshman Showcase in August!    Olive first caught my attention with an All-Tournament First Team performance at the PGH Michigan State Tournament last summer. She's capable of getting past defenders using quick crossovers and has great touch on her floaters. She's a strong rebounder, drives hard to the basket, and has good form on her jumper. Olive will be a welcomed addition to the Big Rapids program and has the potential to make an immediate impact.     Isabella received high praise for her performance with [program_tooltip program_id='712507' first='Factory' last='Basketball'] at the PGH Michigan State Tournament, receiving an All-Tournament First Team selection. Her fundamental skill with the ball and impact as a facilitator was specifically mentioned as areas of strength. Isabella makes the hustle plays and can knock down the open jumper.     Ruby received an All-Tournament First Team selection for her performance with [program_tooltip program_id='1244063' first='Great' last='Lakes Grind'] at the PGH Michigan State Tournament. She's consistently been a top performer there the past two seasons and has the potential to be a major contributor at the high school level. Ruby's ball-handling, athleticism, and dual-threat abilities as a perimeter threat or downhill scorer make her a very promising prospect.     Aubriana is one of the premier forward prospects in this class, and she's going to be a force for Haslett at the varsity level. A Headliners Showcase standout, Aubriana demonstrated advanced fundamental skills in the paint that set her apart. She's continued to perform well on the PGH Circuit, impacting games on the defensive end as a shot blocker with her disruptive length, while contributing a strong rebounding presence. Aubriana is going to create a matchup problem for opposing teams.     Emma is a very versatile wing-forward in this class. She made a great impression at the Headliners Invitational Showcase and has continued to stand out while playing up with [program_tooltip program_id='932068' first='Michigan' last='Prospects']. Emma as a long and athletic frame, she uses great footwork to create scoring angles in the paint, and finishes with good touch. Emma has the confidence to step outside and knock down perimeter jumpers. She'll be difficult for traditional forwards to defend and will be a major addition to her high school program.     There's something to be said about playing hard and making the effort plays that lead to team success. Madison's toughness and hard work on the court put her on our radar during the Headliners Invitational Showcase. She puts her head down and attacks with determination off the dribble, absorbs contact, and finishes at the rim. Madison battles for rebounds and her competitive edge energizes the team. She's a gritty incoming freshman that will be a great addition at the high school level.
