If you are someone that is familiar with the stat's kept online from action across the state the last couple of years then you know all about Taryn Petersen of Exira-EHK High School. Petersen hasn't just been one of the top producers for her own program throughout her career but she has been a top producers throughout the entire state in multiple positive statistical categories. She fills up the bucket in a hurry, she can defend her own position, and she can lead her team by example in more way than one. We have seen that time and time again over the last three years and I'm sure we will see it again this Winter for her last go around before finishing off her high school career on the hardwood.

We saw glimpses of what Maybes Miller could do over the last few seasons but I think this Winter will be her most productive yet at the Varsity level. Miller, the 5'10 CG, is the type that can be moved around at several different positions. She has length and speed to pair along with her athletic ability, which is usually superior to most and she knows what to do when, a majority of the times. If she can move around the 2, 3, and 4 spots as needed this Winter she could see ample time on the court. They are going to need a plug-and-play type prospect to help them out in the long run as they get closer to the Playoffs and that could be Miller.

We are going to see Kylee Hill back in a position of domination this Winter once again at Burlington High School. Hill has been their soul and motor in the middle over her career. She has demonstrated that she knows how to control/protect the lane and she has seemingly gotten better with age/experience. If this team wants to go far come Playoff time Hill will need to be holding serve the further they get. If she can limit the other team to one rebound per possession and she can convert through contact, this group could become scary but we will just have to wait and see!

Speaking of players that have made their program their own the last few years within Iowa, Brystal Peck of Wayne High School is in that same conversation. To give you an example - last year as a Junior Peck averaged a double-double in points-rebounds with 17.7 PPG (45%) and 10 RPG. She also dished out 2 APG and caused right around 2 turnovers defensively in the form of SPG. The Wayne Falcons went 9-14 as a whole on their year but this upcoming season feels different. If their group comes together early on in the year and Peck comes back ready to roll, they will surprise some opposing teams as the season moves on.

North Scott High School could have a successful duo at the SF and PG positions this Winter with their upcoming roster. One half of that duo being Alyssa Schroeder. Schroeder comes in as a talented and coordinated SF at 5'11. She has lengthy arms, a quick first step, and she always shows up on the defensive end as being someone that can block your shot if you aren't paying attention. Offensively she can clean up the glass or work with her back to the basket and find success when she has ample spacing around her. When you pair those things all together you get someone who can producer at the Varsity level within the right company, something I'm sure we will see first hand this Winter out of Schroeder.
