We have six more prospects listed below out of the 2027 Class, that have household names within their high school's at this point in their careers. They should each see several meaningful minutes this Winter on the Varsity floor once again and I can't wait to see how they do.

An unsung hero from the Johnston High School team, that can fill up the bucket in a hurry is Daya Phillips at the CG position. Phillips has been a main role player for this group over the last three years. She is a big reason why her team has gone undefeated the last two years and why they should win some more contests this Winter as well. Phillips primality works off of the ball. She is a threat in the catch and shoot parts of the game. She can also handle better than most, she rebounds, and she defends. All of these things lead up to someone that has built a nice high school career as it is but she is still hungry for more and I think we are going to see that in the boatload this upcoming Winter when they return Guard heavy.

Bailey Uthoff should be the main source of production this Winter at Valley High School with the rock in her possession coming down the floor as they're starting PG. Uthoff is deceivingly lengthy, she has a quick first step going either direction, she can finish from all offensive levels at a thorough rate, and she isn't afraid to get her hands messy with some physical play. She has been committed to the D2 level for a few years now and for good reason. She has surprised a lot of people throughout her high school career so far and I'm sure she will do the same at the next level as well as long as she can find her niche in that program early on throughout her journey there.

We talk about Izzy Gilbertson being a SF on her high school team because she is one of the taller prospects participating at all times and she does do a lot of good near the hoop but she is also skilled enough to bring her matchup to the outside. She has some promising guard-like abilities, that really make her a CG more than anything else. I will say she does have most of her production occur near the hoop but that doesn't change the fact that she can be your team's 3. Plus with her reach and athletic ability she can switch on defense to guard several different positions, which coaches. All in all, Gilbertson has been the go-to hooper at Mount Ayr the last few years and we shouldn't expect that to change anytime in the near future.

St. Albert will return 8+ prospects from their Varsity team from last season and one of those players to keep an eye on is Lexie Pearce. Pearce is listed as a 5'9 SF, who does most of her work near the rim. She is there to take up space, box out and rebound, defend, and to convert though contact whenever plausible. She is also sound enough to step out from 12 FT and hit a little shot off of a tough angle if defenses don't respect her. This program is loaded at all positions. That's been the case for the last couple of years and it'll be the case for this season as well. If they take care of business, they should be right back in the 1A State Tournament in about 7-8 months and from there, who knows what might happen!

Everyone is going to be a little sad after this season comes to a close at Mid-Prairie because of the loss of their Senior Class. This Senior Class has been around, doing their thing for their entire high school careers and winning a lot of games because of it. Someone specifically from this group, that is going to put up major numbers for her Senior season this Winter is SF - Morgan Bender. Bender is a 6'0 Forward, that controls and deals with everything happening in the middle of the lane on both ends. She has muscle mass to pair along with her height and that lets her dominate individual matchups a majority of the time. If others can come in and work around her as she deals out of the middle, they should win some convincing contests before the season comes to a close.

Adalee Klein is going to be the anchor for Regina Catholic this Winter within the 2A Class and that is going to set up Regina for a ton of success as we move into the Playoffs at the start of 2027. This group will have a Top 5 rated player in the 2028 Class in Addie McLaughlin (PG) and a Top 10 rated player in the 2029 Class in Aubrey Meyer (CG/SF). As long as Klein can clean up all the messes that are created under the bucket and she can convert offensively through contact, this is going to be a Top 2A team all Winter long. There won't be many programs, if any that can hold them and we aren't even talking about any one else of their roster, who might have some skills. When you take all of this information into consideration, you start to see how this team might turn into a big deal this upcoming Winter. They just have to take it one day at a time.
