2027 Player Rankings Update: WL Prospects Seeing Major Minutes

These players are all going to play a factor this Winter at the Varsity level with their high school programs. In the past each player has either been a big part of their program already or they have shown glimpses of production and now they will get a shot to take over for their Senior year.   Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!    The big number that stands out from Gabriela Pedroso last season is how often she got to the free throw line. Pedroso only started two games throughout last Winter yet she had over 50 free throw attempts, meaning that she got to the line each game, more than most. She was never afraid of getting hit once she got downhill and that stood out to everyone watching. This Winter Washington will need other guards to step up with who they just graduated and I think Pedroso is one of those guards. She has shown promise up until this point and I don't expect that to slow down for her Senior year.     KP jumps onto the Varsity floor once again this upcoming Winter as a SG for her Waukee NW team and I'm excited to see how it goes. Princehouse has been someone coming off the bench for a few years now for the Wolves. She primarily works off of the wing or corner, always ready to attack from the perimeter in one way or another. She possesses a solid dribble that can get her to better spots offensively if need be and she always does a good job of not forcing certain actions on either side of the ball. Waukee NW will have a shot to make some 5A magic this Winter but for that to occur, others will need to step up in big moments, players like KP.     Another Senior leader returning this Winter to their program of the past is Lexie Darrington at St. Albert High School out of the Council Bluffs area. Darrington is a strong PF. She can also step outside to spread the floor but she really makes her money on either block under the basket. Offensively, she can score over others who may be smaller or she can go through others who might be a little bit bigger. Defensively, she does a good job of leaving it all on the floor. She plays with maximum effort and that stands out to anyone watching. St. Albert will have a chance to bring home another 1A title this Winter if they player their cards right so make sure to keep an eye on this group as a whole in your free time.     Whenever Isabella Senters takes the floor, she is locked in and competing with a chip-on-her-shoulder attitude. I'm not sure where that comes from but when she uses it to motivate herself, she is one of the best hoopers on the court. Other than having good size for her position, Senters has a quick reaction time and a ton of discipline. She understands what she does best and she understands what her opponents do best - which usually brings her a ton of success throughout the duration of a game or season as a whole. We will hear Senters name a few times this upcoming season. She should see some solid minutes on the floor as a Senior and from there who knows what could happen!     Lucy Lueken was a starter last season as a Junior while averaging respectable numbers across multiple positive statistical categories. She wasn't the star within their system but she was someone that was good for a three or two a game, she also showed up as a rebounder, defender, and teammate as a whole. She isn't the tallest but she was willing to mix it up to get some rebounds or to get a touch on the ball in anyway. We should see a lot of the same this Winter as we have seen in the past from this group. They will make the State Tournament with their roster on hand and they could even win the whole thing if everyone comes into the season prepared.
