Lexie Darrington Lexie Darrington 5'10" | /PF St. Albert | 2027 IA competes out of Iowa for high school ball and Nebraska for AAU ball. Darrington was a prospect we highlighted at the State Tournament a few months ago as her team brought home a 1A Title. Following that run, LD picked up where she left off by making smart moves and playing some efficient ball this past weekend. She wasn’t the one who led her team in any particular category but she made her mark on every category in one way or another. A different way to put this is that she didn’t do anything great, but she did EVERYTHING really well. She demonstrated that she was a well-rounded recruit on more than one occasion in the aspects of scoring, rebounding, and defending. It’s early on in Darrington’s career but she has shown a lot of promise up until this point. If she continues to build on her foundation, she is going to be someone we hear about for years to come.

We mentioned Lexie Darrington Lexie Darrington 5'10" | /PF St. Albert | 2027 IA recently because of her production during the State Tournament. Darrington is another one with good size at 5’10. She is more of a SF, that can also play the CG position if need be. She uses her height to her advantage whenever she can, primarily working within the perimeter on offense. Defensively, she can step out and stick with someone smaller because of her lengthy arms but she seems to be more comfortable near the basket. I will be able to see Darrington on the road this AAU season and that will help me access what her future might hold a little bit better but for now, she seems pretty solid.

Saint Albert has been on a tear this season, showing their strength as one of the best teams in the 1A Class thourghout Iowa, if not thee best team. To be considered the best team in any Class, you need able prospects, good coaching, and an hunger to want to be the best. This group possesses that. Darrington seems to have a solid base as a recruit. Her foundation within the game is sound and something she will be able to build off of moving into AAU season this Spring. This team is dangerous. If they play to their greatest potential, they will be State Champs before you know it and Darrington will be a key piece to that.
