Rankings bring new news and allow new opportunities for players. There are some players who are already household names in Arizona, but others have been putting in the work all summer and have had a great offseason. Here are the players who are poised to climb the 2026-2027 rankings in Arizona.    Nami has had a huge summer. Nami has developed so much this summer that she can handle pressure. Nami does not seem overwhelmed by the speed of the game, especially against high-intensity teams. Nami has shown that she can make good offensive decisions within her team's offensive structure. Nami knows how to manipulate her defenders with pace. Nami moves up and down the court very well for her size. Defensively, Nami has shown she can cover ground quickly when defending a fast break. When she secures rebounds, she does it using both hands. What stands out about Nami's ability to rebound is how she positions herself, rather than relying solely on her athleticism. Nami has a consistent perimeter shot.     Sophia can impact the game in several ways. She plays with a very high motor and rebounds at a high level with good instincts. She has excellent court vision on the floor. She is a great communicator and is a good decision-maker on the court. Sophia knows when to attack the paint and when to facilitate the offense. She can create her offense without being ball-dominant. She passes the ball accurately and can see passing windows well. Sophia has excellent instincts as an offensive player. She has a good understanding of proper floor spacing. Sophia is a team player. Sophia is a solid perimeter shooter and has excellent off-ball awareness.     Riley is an excellent basketball player. Poised and plays with extreme confidence. Riley has learned the game of basketball under some great coaches, so Riley can be considered a "student of the game". Riley is a player who exhibits leadership skills beyond her years. She understands the concept of "pace" rather than just playing fast. She can make good basketball decisions under pressure. Riley is a player who shoots naturally from the perimeter. She has an advanced understanding of spacing on the floor. She will be a high-level perimeter shooter at the next level. Riley is comfortable attacking a lane from any direction.     Brooklyn plays with very talented players, but Brooklyn's game stands out. Brooklyn is a very confident shooter who requires minimal space to get off her shot. Her perimeter shooting allows her to extend the defensive coverage. Nothing appears to faze Brooklyn. She can make a high percentage of shots even under pressure. What is noticeable about Brooklyn's game is her ability to stay balanced before she releases her shot. Brooklyn has a very high basketball IQ and knows where to move on the floor to catch and release the ball. Brooklyn makes exceptional "relocation" decisions while moving without the ball.     Tylaiah is the player to watch this upcoming season. Her offseason shows why she is dedicated to consistently improving her game. Tylaiah is the “heart and soul” of the Gilbert offense, and her game shows why. Tylaiah is always able to keep her dribble alive while surveying the entire court. Tylaiah's hesitation moves are executed very well, and she is successful in manipulating her defenders. She is able to control the ball with both hands and knows how to create passing angles without over-dribbling. Tylaiah can create her team's offense without dominating the basketball. She creates high-quality scoring chances for her teammates. Offensively, she has excellent offensive instincts and makes good decisions under pressure. Tylaiah knows how to think critically about the game of basketball and has shown that she can think one step ahead in the current possession. Tylaiah will have a huge year.     Abuk has really stepped on the basketball scene in Arizona. Abuk is an elite rebounder. She knows how to anticipate a miss and rebound with both hands. Abuk knows how to use her body and play physically in the paint. From an athletic standpoint, Abuk shows that she has long-term rebounding potential. Positioning is a trait that Abuk has that makes her stand out. Without the ball, Abuk knows how to set physical screens very well. She understands the timing at which her screens are effective and, in turn, create scoring opportunities for her team. As Abuk continues to grow, she is showing offensive creativity. She is becoming more comfortable facing the basket. Abuk has tremendous upside to her game and will continue to grow as a player.
