Expert Analysis
John Millyard | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Lual is the top center in the 2028 Southern Arizona class and will make a case as the top in the state. Lual averaged 8 points, 10.1 rebounds, 1 steal and 2.7 blocks per game for the Lancers. She had 10+ rebounds in 20 games this season including a season high 20 rebounds against Mesquite. Her height and lengthy wingspan gives her a great advantage and her IQ and skill just separate her that much more from everyone else. Lual finished the year with 84 blocks and a season high 8 against Catalina Foothills. She is tremendous in the pick and roll. Her skill in the post allows her to beat her defender in many ways. Lual will continue to gather the attention of college coaches. Expect to read a lot about Lual the next couple years.

One of the top centers in the state helped the Salpointe Lancers get back to the post season as the number one team in the 4A Conference. Lual averaged 8 points, 10.1 rebounds, 1 steal and 2.7 blocks per game this season for the Lancers. Her lengthy wingspan and height already give her a great advantage on her opponents. You add those with her ability to play through physicality, her confidence and ability to make big plays and you’ll find yourself as a first team all region selection like Lual did. Her post foot work and ability to block shots and rebound are elite. Another prospect where the sky is the limit once her recruitment gains momentum.

Abuk is developing into a problem. The sophomore post is coming off a double-double in the quarterfinal win over Cactus Shadows, and she’s been steadily improving all season. Her footwork is cleaner. Her timing on rebounds has improved. She’s finishing stronger around the rim. If Luau replicates that production in the semifinal, Salpointe becomes extremely tough to beat.

Lual showed a lot of promise in the game against Millennium. While her offensive game is still a work in progress. She impacted her game on the boards and as a shot blocker. She ran the floor very well and always presented a threat, blocking shots and grabbing a ton of rebounds. She almost finished with a double-double.

Lual is a force in the paint. She has great post footwork and was able to get around her defender and score with either hand. Very disciplined shot blocker as she towers over her opponents. Her length is very disruptive for opposing teams. Lual is making leaps in her development and should she continue in the direction she is could be a very highly recruited player statewide.

Lual is one of those players who you know it’s only a matter of time before her production matches her upside. With increased playing time, this will happen. Her height and wingspan make her a force on the defensive end.

Abuk stat line as a freshman wasn’t appealing but don’t let that fool you because her presence, her tenacity and her skill will have her to improve this season. I believe her rebounding and her points will have her to come close to averaging a double-double and what stands out about her is her energy and how coachable she is. Her growth in the game will be talked about and about time she hit her senior year she will be a force to reckon with in the state of Arizona girls basketball.

had a nice showing at the Showcase for a young player. She has incredible size and length for a high school player and is a nightmare to score against in the paint. She alters shots, and creates stress on players trying to get into the lane and score. She is a very good rebounder both offensively and defensively. She will continue to develop her all-around game and could be a big-time college prospect before her career is done.

Lual is a post prospect who gets better every time I see her. She moves very well for her size and knows how to disrupt shots even if she doesn’t block them. Abuk rebounds well and understands to keep the ball high and away from the opposing team.
