There was a ton of action taking place the last four days in Chicago during Nike EYBL Nationals. Below are some more notes that I took from the weekend as a whole while watching hoopers compete at all different levels.

"This weekend has proven to me that [player_tooltip player_id='920716' first='Bentley' last='Dill'] could play either the 1 or the 2 at the collegiate level one day. Dill was tasked with bringing the ball down the court most of the time the last few days as they have made their run to the 16U EYBL National Championships. She has been doing some great work as the player that starts all of her team's action, passing once she gets over half court and cutting off of that passing action to another open space away from the ball. She has been hitting shots in rotation when it's swung back to her and that's made the group look really good as a whole."

"A PF with better than average size, hand-eye coordination, and toughness. She sits in the middle and is someone that opponents have to deal with because of her natural height. If they don't, she is going to EAT as a rebounder, scoring threat, and as a defender throughout. She gets down the floor in quite a hurry when moving in transition and it's noteworthy for how tall she is. Right now she is playing up a grade level but you'd never be able to notice that just by watching her compete, even on a National stage."

"Camacho has one of the quickest releases that we have seen over the last few days at this event. She doesn't need much time to let it fly. She always has a balanced stance when she is getting ready to shoot it and when she see's one go in, it could start an avalanche from deep. Her handle is impressive. It helps her keep things in check as a PG when she is coming down the court to run their system."

"The best part about [player_tooltip player_id='954119' first='Liv' last='Johnson']'s game when she plays with her EYBL team is that she isn't afraid to go into the lane and play her position. She might be listed as a PG for high school purposes at Carmel but I don't see that. From everything I've watched she sits more as a CG or SF at best and she is REALLY good at those spots. The reality is that not everyone is a PG or SG and that's okay. You can still be a monster, who can play at a REALLY high level and that's what we have here with Johnson. In this contest she has screened from the top of the key, she has posted up down -ow off of her team's down-screening actions, and she worked with her back to the basket an ample amount while converting almost each time she had the opportunities too. Did she also handle and facilitate it? Of course but she really has thrived when she worked towards the middle of the floor the most."

"Vickery was the fire starter during for her Missouri Phenom 17U team as they move onto the Championship on Monday morning. When her team was down 12+ she stuck to the plan and made consistent plays to help her team stay in the ball-game. When the third quarter came around, they continued things with a huge run, eventually closing things out for the W. Vickery might not of been the leading scorer from this group but someone had to step up if they were going to move on and that player was MV when things became tough. No matter how tomorrow goes, she should be proud."

"GT was someone we highlighted coming into this weekend and she did a good job of playing her position and using her size to her advantage. In multiple contests, including in their game to go to the Championship, GT was a force to deal with for the opponent. In this specific battle she posted a stat line with near 20 rebounds along with a few buckets, blocks, and assists.. This was a respectable showing as they fell just short when the final buzzer sounded on Sunday night."

"There were a number of prospects I could highlight from this Cal Star's team but one of their most impactful Guards has been Ava Rogerson. Rogerson has been moving around between the PG and SG position and making easy work of the opponent put in front of her. She is very good at using angles to get to favorable positions as she gets inside the three point line but she can also step back and hit the three ball if the defense tries to take away the drive. [program_tooltip program_id='712375' first='All' last='in'] all, Rogerson has a nice game for her age level and that was on full display today."

"It was another promising showing tonight by [player_tooltip player_id='1833378' first='Lauren' last='Harkins'] of AIA 14U JR. EYBL. Harkins was their team's leading scorer with nearly 20 points, single handedly scoring 1/3 of the team's total points (61). If you know how LH plays then this type of game is no surprise. This is someone who will be a big time scoring threat this Winter at Waukee and we saw glimpses of that up close and personal tonight against the Cal Stars 14U JR EYBL program."
