EYBL/Tournament of Champions Vegas 2028 Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The <strong>Nike Tournament of Champions West</strong> took place in <strong>Las Vegas</strong> on <strong>July 10-13th</strong> and featured the <strong>Nike EYBL</strong> and <strong>EYCL</strong>, as well as the <strong>Tournament of</strong> <strong>Champions</strong>. Her IQ and court vision allowed her to create scoring chances, often with perfectly timed, unselfish passes to open teammates. What really stood out was her ability to impact the game defensively. Rodgers finished among the top five in blocks per game in EYBL play, which is an impressive accomplishment considering she's a guard. She has good timing coming over to challenge shots and isn't afraid to mix it up around the basket. Rodgers also rebounds well from the guard position and can grab it and go, pushing the ball coast to coast herself. The lefty guard stayed in attack mode, constantly putting pressure on the defense, getting downhill, and keeping defenders on their heels. Her aggressiveness opened up quite a bit offensively, benefiting not only her but also her teammates. She ran the floor very well and didn't have any problems getting up and down in transition. Defensively, her length really caused problems around the basket. Lual used her wingspan and good timing to block and alter shots, giving Mountain West Premier EYCL 16U a legitimate presence around the rim. She showed a good understanding of pace from the point guard position, knowing when her team had an opportunity to get out and run and when it was better to slow things down and get everyone into their sets. She looked comfortable directing traffic and getting the ball where it needed to go. She was vocal on both ends of the floor, and you could see her communicating and trying to keep her teammates on the same page. Offensively, she showed a good mix of inside-outside play and impacted the game in multiple areas. She handled the ball well and played with a good pace, never really looking like she was in a hurry. I also liked some of the passes she made, as she found teammates in scoring positions and created easy opportunities for them. Weishaar also showed she could knock down perimeter shots when given the opportunity. Her quick hands and quick feet really stood out, and she showed that she can sit down and defend on the perimeter. She is definitely one of the better defenders that I've seen in the 2028 class. Adger wasn't just making an impact defensively either. She was able to get into the teeth of the defense off the bounce, where she could either create something for herself or draw help and find one of her teammates.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
