Names to Know Heading Into the Final Live Period

The final live period is nearly here, and the end of the 2026 grassroots season is right around the corner. As of right now, I believe 18 players in the 2027 class have committed to schools, with more to come in the coming weeks and months. Today, we'll look at a handful of players who have not yet announced what their plans are for next steps in their playing careers. We'll look at more players for coaches to see over the next week as we get closer to the live period, but we will start with the 2027s tonight.    The Medford guard/wing is a talented kid who excels at getting to the rim. She's a mismatch problem whenever she steps on the floor because of her size and ability to handle the ball and create off the dribble. Klingbeil is a player who can also defend multiple positions and bring some versatility to the defensive end of the floor, guard multiple positions, and potentially switch one through four at the next level.     The Hudson native is among the more skilled players in the 2027 class. She has become one of the better passers in the class, and she would thrive in a motion offense where she can catch the ball and make reads with the ball in her hands. She would also excel as a screener who could attack defenses off the short roll and make reads agaisnt a defense with a numerical advantage.     The Arrowhead guard is a hard-nosed kid who brings some physicality to both ends of the floor. Zehner is a creative guard who can take and make tough shots, which will be more valuable at the next level with a shot clock. I also like the edge she brings to the floor and her ability to generate extra possessions on both ends of the floor. There aren't many players like her left on the board in Wisconsin, and her coaches at the next level will love having her in the building every day.     The Brookfield native brings some length to any lineup she's a part of and will add some floor spacing anywhere she plays. Piurkowski has some length and can use that length to make plays on the defensive end of the floor. She's also a player who will complement any team that has a ball-dominant player and open the floor for them whenever she's on the court.
