Recruitment Update: July 20th, 2026

Here are a few athletes out of Iowa that have recently been offered or they have recently committed to compete at the next level following their Senior year of high school ball.   Every player listed has shown off their skill-set over the years with their varsity high school team and that has helped them prove to recruiters that they have what it takes to suit up at the next level following their high school careers. Recent Commitment: D1 - South Dakota (SD)   One of the best PG throughout the state of Iowa, Romey Croatt, is off the board with her commitment to South Dakota. This is a crucial commitment for the Coyotes as they look to build on the momentum that they have set in place the last couple of years. This is going to be a hooper that the coaching staff can believe in to make the right play during any moment throughout a close contest. She should see the floor early on in her career with the tenacity and chip on her shoulder attitude she competes with but we will see. If she can get on campus and get comfortable in her new surrounds, she is going to thrive. She could even end up being one of the best overall PG's that South Dakota WBB has had in their program history when we look back but only time will tell.     Recent Offer: D2 - Maryville (MO)   Kalyn Scamman locked in one of her first D2 offers when Maryville out of Missouri made an offer to the talented PG over the weekend. Scamman has been a standout while competing over the last few seasons. It doesn't matter if it's been on the high school floor or if it's been on the AAU travel court, when Scamman competes she has been really good as PG #1. She has been able to lead the pace of play, control tempo, and to set up everyone around her for success on both offense and defense. When things become tight, she isn't afraid to get the ball in her hands and to make a play and that speaks to the tenacity she brings with her every time she laces up her shoes. All in all, I love this offer from both parties. This is a well respected D2 program out of the Midwest so I wouldn't be shocked if they landed Scamman at the end of the day but only time will tell.     Recent Offer: D1 - Marquette (WI)   We are starting to see the D1 offers trickle in for Adrienne Sears of Dowling Catholic High School. Sears, the skilled CG, is a hooper with size, skill, and presence. She is extremely intelligent when it comes to the X's and O's of the game and she doesn't force any unneeded action while trying to accomplish anything on either side of the floor. My biggest question for Sears throughout the rest of her career will be, "Can she take over?" She didn't need to do that last season with DC and she won't this upcoming season either so it really comes down to a question of where are her limits. Where do things start to become difficult for her? At what level? We might not be able to answer this question until she is already on a collegiate roster. All I know right now is that Sears is going to continue to bring in D1 offers until she commits. Especially at her current pace.     Recent Offer(s): D1 - South Dakota (SD), D1- Mississippi State (MS)   One of the biggest winners this last month of action throughout the state of Iowa is Tenley Levin of Solon High School as she pulled in two D1 offers within 48 hours over the last few weeks. Levin, the #1 rated 2029 in Iowa, has had D1 interest for years now so it's only right that schools are starting to pull the trigger by throwing her an official offer. This last week South Dakota and Mississippi State are the two that made offers to Levin moving into Nike EYBL Nationals next weekend in Chicago. These offers were strategic by both parties. I would assume they both wanted get their offers in prior, so when more schools offers to follow July, they can say they were one of the first one's that believed in her and saw the future potential. I'm not sure that's going to be enough to keep Levin but it's not a bad strategy. Putting interest into a prospect early in their career can work for some programs so now it's all about how the steps to follow play out.     Recent Offer: D1 - Bulter (IN)   If you were to tell me that Braylyn Birmingham went to college and averaged numbers that would become a headline story nationally at the D1 level, I would not be shocked. The thing about BB is that she isn't just skilled, lengthy, smart, and calculated - she produces in every aspect of the game as a player. She is always scoring in different ways, she can facilitate off that scoring ability, she can create off the bounce, she can rebound over most her position because of her height, she can defend multiple positions, and her athletic ability is there. As of most recent, Butler offered Birmingham last week. This is going to be another D1 offer for BB to add to her pile. A pile that continues to grow as we move into the biggest weekend of the year for EYBL prospects.     Recent Offer: D2 - Maryville (MO)   Maryville is out in full force trying to lock in Iowa commits for their future Classes coming into their program in the near future. This time it's for Ava Smid of DCG High School. If you don't know, Smid is a talented SF, who has a high potential when it comes to her future ability on the hardwood. She checks off a ton of boxes that college recruiters have already and she is only going to get better as she continues to get older. Right now she can change the game on any high school floor she competes on and she might have that ability at the college level one day as well if she plays her cards right.     Recent Offer: D1 - South Dakota (SD)   At this point we might be talking about Emily Tanny every week throughout the rest of her high school career. Tanny was our biggest stock-riser last Winter at the Varsity level for the 2029 Class and she is following that up with some noteworthy play on the EYBL scene this Spring/Summer. Their EYBL team is currently undefeated in Live play with a 15-0 record, looking in tiptop shape for NIKE TOC this upcoming weekend. If this group play at their full capabilities, they are going to bring home a 15U EYBL National Title for back2back seasons and a big reason for that will be because of the play out of prospects like Tanny. They are truly a loaded squad. As long as they don't settle, they should continue their reign of dominance to close out the month of July before moving back into high school ball for the Fall/Winter.
