Select Super Showcase: 2029 Playmakers

The Select Super Showcase is a Live Period tournament that's on my coverage schedule year after year. Welcoming hospitality, organization, elite competition, participation by Michigan clubs, a reasonable driving distance, a high volume of college coaches in the gym, and dozens of courts in close proximity make this a premier event. These were some of the 2029 prospects who were difference makers for their teams:    Kennedi is an energetic and skilled guard who caught my attention at the Select Super Showcase. She drilled a corner three with confidence and fired her team up by sinking another smooth triple from the wing. Kennedi used good punch steps to create space to shoot off the dribble and dished out a filthy behind the back pass to beat the final defender on a fast break for an assist. Kennedi has good touch on her lob passes, is shifty with the ball in her hands, and can slash to the hoop or fill it up from beyond the arc.     Evelyn moved up into the top five after our latest rankings update, and she backed it up on the court with Mystics 15U P24 at the Select Super Showcase. Evelyn drilled threes from the corner and the slot, then took one dribble from the perimeter to sink a pure elbow jumper. She slashed to the rim, went up strong to score through contact, then finished the and-one layup. A crafty guard with length, athleticism, and a polished skill set who can run the point or play off the ball is a luxury to have at the next level.     O.J. was flat out dominant in every phase of the game for Mystics 15U P24 at the Select Super Showcase, and she made a loud statement under the spotlight. O.J. stuffed my notebook: give-and-go with a catch and finish off two, explosive drives to the rim for layups, catch and finishes in stride with smooth transfers in the lane, finishing off two with her right and left, mid-range pull-ups, threes from the corner, the slot, and a moonshot from the wing. O.J. shot the ball at a high clip from beyond the arc. Her freakish length/athleticism and ability to get by defenders took over games, showing why she's in an elite category as a higher-level guard prospect in this class.     The Select Super Showcase was my first time seeing Dailey play, and she instantly separated herself as a higher-level guard prospect. Dailey has the length, relentless motor, aggressiveness, and two-way impact you look for in the backcourt. Her hesitations, crossovers, pocket dribbles, and overall shiftiness made it difficult for defenders to keep her from getting to the rim. Dailey was a press breaker cheat code. She used poised retreat dribbles to escape traps while scanning the floor. Dailey anticipated passes to create deflections and kicked the ball out to open shooters after using shifty double crossovers to penetrate and collapse the help. She pushed the ball coast to coast and scored an athletic offensive rebound putback with a reverse finish. She's a threat from three and a playmaker to follow with Battle Born 15U.     Giuliana made a lasting impression at the Select Super Showcase. It's clear why she's a top prospect in her class. Giuliana created transition points by firing long passes up the court for assists. She has great court vision as a facilitator and can create her own shot. Giuliana absorbed contact and converted a tough veer finish with her left off two feet. She used two shifty inside-out dribbles to create a driving lane, then dropped in a smooth floater in the paint through contact. Giuliana tacked on the free throw to complete the three-point play. She's a threat from beyond the arc and drained an open corner three. Giuliana is a compact guard with a polished game, definitely a prospect to follow in the MCW Starz program.     Calley was a solid contributor for [program_tooltip program_id='714462' first='Michigan' last='Premier'] 15U at the Select Showcase. Her sharp instincts and active hands on the defensive end created steals that quickly turned into fast break scoring opportunities. She sees the floor well, makes the right plays, fires crisp passes to open teammates, and made an impressive wrap-around pass in the paint to create a wide-open look. Calley showed her outside range by sinking a smooth corner three and handled the ball comfortably with both hands. She's a skilled point guard who impacts the game in multiple categories.
