It is when the final two live periods of the travel season take place and the beginning of the academic semester lurks.

August is the month following July – meaning volleyball, football and other Fall season sports are also set to begin play. For many a prospect, they will begin those fall seasons with new teams.

Since our last transfer update, we at Prep Girls Hoops have learned of a few more noteworthy names that will attend different schools and sport different threads than during their 2025-26 seasons. Here are several of those names.

Last season, Gipson wasted no time displaying to the Palmetto State that she is one of its premier young talents. She will be bringing her basketball skills to the South Carolina High School League (SCHSL) ranks with 5A Gray Collegiate as she is a rising eighth grader. Gipson, who has worn the [program_tooltip program_id='1238252' first='Twelve' last='Time'] uniform for the 2026 grassroots season, was one of the signature names for a Ben Lippen team that last season advanced to the SCISA 4A semifinals. She played in all 30 games last season for the Falcons while averaging 13.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.4 steals per contest.

SCISA 4A Ben Lippen not only lost a backcourt element of its young nucleus but one in the frontcourt as well – to the same 5A Gray Collegiate program. Summons is another who also spends her spring and summer of AAU ball with [program_tooltip program_id='1238252' first='Twelve' last='Time'] and competed in all 30 contests last season for the Falcons. She was the team's leader in blocks and rebounds last season averaging 9.7 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.1 blocks per contest. She was one of three middle schoolers on Ben Lippen's roster last season. War Eagles coach Brandon Wallace is making a statement that Gray Collegiate will be a team to beat in the 5A field.

Hickman's high school career has seen her play at schools such as Eastside and Legacy Early College. She is entering her final campaign at the high school level and will once again wear blue in 2026-27 – Dorman Cavaliers blue to be exact. Hickman has already participated in a few camp events back in June and looked in midseason form. Last month, she secured an offer from William Peace University. Hickman competed in 20 of the Lions' 22 contests last season. She averaged 10.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game and joins a Cavaliers team that advanced to last season's 5A Division 1 Upper State semifinals.

DeLong last season wore the burgundy and black of 5A Carolina Forest. Not only will she be missed by her Panthers, she will be missed by South Carolinians. DeLong has transferred to Western Reserve Academy in Ohio just outside of Cleveland. She was part of a Carolina Forest team that concluded its 2025-26 season with a 16-7 record and a berth in the 5A Division 1 Lower State semifinals. DeLong competed in all 23 of the Panthers' contests last season while averaging 7.5 points, 2.7 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game. She was one of two from the class of 2027 on last season's Carolina Forest team – and one of three team co-captains.

Last season, Wilson was part of a North team that made a run to the 1A Upper State semifinals – a year after the Eagles were 1A Upper State finalists. Wilson is transferring her many talents from North to Orangeburg-Wilkinson. She averaged seven points, six rebounds, 2.8 steals and 2.6 assists as she would play in 25 of the Eagles' 27 games last season. Wilson joins a Bruins team that is dropping in classification from 3A to 2A beginning with the 2026-27 season. The rising senior guard is putting a bow on her grassroots career this spring and summer wearing the OTOD uniform.

The Lions of Legacy Early College are moving into the South Carolina High School League (SCHSL) ranks beginning with the 2026-27 season but will do so sans one of its 2028s from last season. Henry is making the move from Legacy to 4A Fountain Inn. She participated in 22 contests last season in Lions gold and purple and was one of only two from the class of 2028 on last season's team. Henry joins a Fury team that finished its 2025-26 season with a 15-12 record in addition to going 6-4 against region foes. She previously played at Homewood-Flossmoor in the Chicago area.
