’27 Forwards The Key To Team’s Success

It seems like more and more each year, we have kids from our state who go on to play at the collegiate level. It doesn't matter which level, but they continue their education and basketball careers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With that being said, some classes may be more highly touted than others, which is ok. The thing I love about the ‘27 class is that they may not have all the fanfare, but they are hard workers and tough competitors. If you look over the course of the years, there has been a ‘27 girl who has stepped up in a mighty way for their club, especially down the stretch. For example, Sevier Co. wasn't getting any love until a ‘27 helped slam the door on another school's impressive run. You know who, and you get my drift. My point is this: the ‘27 class may not have all the accolades from top to bottom, but they are a special class who have been staples or clutch in big-time moments for a lot of clubs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here are a few girls who, ironically, are all small forwards but have been integral parts to their team's success. She is a bucket, and everyone, especially in the city of Memphis, knows it. She is a hardworking individual who just competes her tail off. Plays with a motor; she just gets after it on both ends of the floor. She's always the leading catalyst in multiple categories, doing whatever she can to spearhead her team's success. She is a tough competitor who defends, rebounds, and gets it done on offense. She plays her role well, brings energy on both ends, and just showcases her willingness to do the little things right. This past travel ball season, her game took another level as she not only held it down defensively but was also called upon to hit tough shots down the stretch in many games. Her scoring game evolved: she wasn't just getting trash buckets; when she crashed the boards, she was in attack mode, knocking down 3s along the perimeter. A kid who went from a player to a prospect, doing so by showcasing hustle and heart. She has helped set the standard at Page with her style of play. A selfless ballplayer who is a difference maker anytime she is on the floor. A three-level scoring threat who is going to do her part to ensure Page punches their ticket to the Glass House. I have said that before. The Lee University commit is a hard-working ballplayer who gets after it. Her team feeds off her energy, and she's a type of kid who helps uplift others' play. A three-level scoring threat, when she is on the court, she finds a way to put the ball in the hoop. An important piece to the two-tone blues attack, look for her to help her squad finish deep into postseason. A Miss Tennessee Basketball nominee last season, she heads a stone's throw away to be a part of the McMinn community. A solid additional piece that will make a big difference on the floor.
