Alfaro transferred to Catalina Foothills after having a solid season at Canyon Del Oro where she 8.5 points and 9.2 rebounds and was one of the states leaders in blocks per game with 3.2. She was selected to first team all region. Alfaro in my opinion is what the Falcons needed to make that elusive state title game. A high impact player in the post who could wind up averaging a double double for the Falcons this upcoming season. One of the more college ready forwards in the Southern Arizona 2027 class.

There may not be a more hidden gem in the state than Abigail Alfaro Abigail Alfaro 6'0" | C Catalina Foothills | 2027 State AZ of Catalina Foothills. The 6’2 PF/C has great strength and skilled post footwork that allows her to score very well in the post. Has a strong handle on the ball and finished very nice off the glass. She’s coming off a junior season where she averaged 8.5 points, 9.2 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game. Very dominant presence in the post. Rebounds very well and very quick to score second chance buckets. Abigail has transferred to Catalina Foothills from Canyon Del Oro and could be the missing piece for that elusive state championship game the Falcons have been one game away from the last two years.

Alfaro is a new addition to a talented Falcons squad. She is a gifted post player with a solid handle and talented footwork who can score effectively in the paint. Alfaro is one I expect to see gain a lot of college attention this upcoming weekend. She’s tremendous on the glass and a disciplined shot blocker. Has a very strong frame and a good wingspan to go with it. College coaches can catch Alfaro and the Falcons on Friday June 19th at 1pm on court 15 as they take on Apollo HS in the ABCA Bracket.

Alfaro broke out this season for the Canyon Del Oro Dorados. The forward showed next level foot work and movement in the post. She was dominant on both ends averaging 8.5 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 3.2 blocks per game. Her blocks per game ranked her sixth in the state.One of her top games of the season was in a game I got to watch in person against Flowing Wells where she finished with 10 points, 13 rebounds and 8 blocks. Alfaro was selected to the 5A Sonoran First Team and will look to have an even more dominant season in her upcoming senior year. A player I encourage college coaches to take a look at.

Alfaro might’ve been the most intriguing 2027 prospect who broke out this season. She had a huge leap from last year and has established herself as one of the top 2027 forwards in Southern Arizona. She was a huge reason the Dorados found themselves with a post season opportunity. Alfaro was dominant in the post all season especially on the defensive side. She ranked seventh in the state with 3.2 blocks per game. She added 8.5 points and 9.2 rebounds per game as well. Alfaro had 7 double doubles this season with season best 17 points and 11 reounds against Vista Grande. She has tremendous post footwork and is a very disciplined defender. She finished the season with first team all region honors. Alfaro is still making a name for herself and I expect college coaches to take notice of her very soon.
