Final Observations from the FL-GA Fall Showcase

[player_tooltip player_id='248380' first='Aaliyah' last='Figueroa'] was one of the top players at the showcase. She has the versatility to play the two or three and impacts the game in several areas. She rebounds well, can shoot the three, and brings a high basketball IQ and excellent court vision to the floor. Figueroa stands out in transition using her length, speed, and ability to finish ahead of the defense. Her ability to advance the ball vertically is also a strong part of her game, using exceptional vision and a passing touch to hit teammates in stride when ahead of the defense. She already has the experience of playing in a state championship game, and that experience shows in her poise and understanding of the game. Figueroa has garnered a lot of attention over the summer and has received several offers.     El Deegan also stood out at the showcase, particularly with the way she competed and shot the three-ball in her first game played, knocking down shots from behind the three-point line while also hustling all over the floor. Her opening game was one of the most exciting and competitive matchups of the showcase, and she was right in the middle of the action. She shot the three well, played hard, and competed on both ends of the floor.     [player_tooltip player_id='514916' first='Caeli' last='Weaver'] caught my eye getting up and down the catch. It's hard to miss a 6'2 center/forward running up the floor like a guard. Weaver showed some impressive splashes, particularly on the defensive end. Her length can aggravate opposing players, and she has the versatility to defend on the perimeter while also walling up in the middle. She rebounded well and consistently brought energy to the court. Weaver's offensive game is a versatile one. She has shown the ability to step outside and knock down the three as well as score around the basket. Becoming more consistent offensively will be an important part of her continued development. Weaver is a good two-way player, and this upcoming season should be her coming-out party.     [player_tooltip player_id='1858956' first='Eriyana' last='Kitchen'] had moments where she was cooking on the courts, especially in transition. Kitchen did a good job of pushing the pace, and on several occasions, she went coast to coast after securing the rebound on the defensive end. The impressive part was her ability to push the ball and change direction, going left or right. Kitchen stood out with her versatility at the guard and forward positions. She has the size and strength to play multiple positions on the floor. She was impressive getting position inside and coming up with the rebound. Her ability to grab and go added a special dimension to her game.     [player_tooltip player_id='1003136' first='Skylar' last='Wilson'] made some splashes at the point guard position and showed she could shoot the jumper, handle the ball, run the offense, and get downhill to the rim when needed. Wilson also does a great job of defending the ball and applying pressure at the point of attack. Over the summer, Wilson showed maturity in her decision-making and leadership at the point guard position. She plays with poise and continues to develop into a dependable floor general.     [player_tooltip player_id='1312287' first='Freda' last='Stamper'] stood out just running up and down the court. She ran the floor well, got to her spots, and took some nice shots from behind the arc. Stamper also did a good job of defending the ball, at times picking up full court. Stamper showed another dimension to her game with her ability to grab the rebound and go. She can initiate the fast break herself, allowing her to immediately put pressure on the defense in transition. That combination of length, shooting, defense, and versatility will make Stamper a dangerous freshman next season.
