FL-GA Fall Showcase Top Performers Part 1

The Florida-Georgia Fall Showcase was held at FSCJ, and the talent in the building was undeniable. Ball handlers, three-point shooters, downhill attackers, and multiple under-the-radar players attended the event and showcased their talent in front of college coaches. From impressive shooting performances to strong defense and all-around play, several prospects separated themselves from the others . In this article, we highlight several prospects who stood out as top performers at the showcase.    [player_tooltip player_id='1264352' first='Destini' last='McLemore'] was a beast at the annual Florida-Georgia Showcase, making explosive plays from beginning to end. McLemore was elusive with her hesitation moves, crossovers, and her lightning-fast first step. She got to the rim at will and was totally in control every time. McLemore went left and right equally and finished with both hands as well. Her ability to make plays for teammates was also elite. She baited players into double teams and just dropped off dimes for easy buckets. Mclemore was also tough on the defensive end, pressing up on ball handlers and ripping the ball for easy layups. McLemore was arguably the top performer of the event.     [player_tooltip player_id='996776' first='Sage' last='Pytel'] has come into her own, and she is going to be a problem in her senior season. Pytel showcased an well rounded game with the ability to get to the rim and score consistently and with creativity. On one play, Pytel hung in the air and scored as the defender flew by. The senior guard shot the three-ball well and showcased a smooth midrange shot in the process. Pytel has always shown flashes, but her performance at this showcase was special and amongst the best in the building.     [player_tooltip player_id='1151383' first='Ruby' last='Patterson'] was the top shooter in the building, and as one college coach put it, "even her misses look good." Patterson even knocked down 38 threes in the three-point contest. Patterson can handle the ball, get to the rim, and can also set up teammates. She had the whole package on display, and it was more than enough to earn a spot among the top 5 performers of the showcase.     [player_tooltip player_id='708143' first='Kendall' last='Proffitt'] shot the three-ball like [player_tooltip player_id='708143' first='Kendall' last='Proffitt'] at the showcase. In one game, the defense kept leaving her open, and she quietly knocked down about 6 to 7 threes. That was in one game. Proffitt also showcased other aspects of her game - the handles, shiftiness, and the ability to attack downhill. Her combination of elite perimeter shooting and ability to score off of the bounce is why she is one of the top recruits in the 2028 class.     [player_tooltip player_id='973912' first='Emily' last='Wilson'] knocked down bucket after bucket and showed why she is considered one of the best mid-range scorers in the 2028 class. Even as a freshman, Wilson was efficient in the midrange. At the FL-GA showcase, she didn't just excel with the short jumpers; she got to the rim and finished with consistency and creativity. Wilson also mixed in a few dimes and showed her playmaking abilities from the point guard position. Her game was polished, and she was definitely among the top performers in the building.     [player_tooltip player_id='1688729' first='Jay' last='Rose'] was one of the most impressive young guards at the showcase. Her ability to shoot and score, and overall feel for the game, really stood out. She played with a high basketball IQ and consistently made the correct play. Rose saw the floor well, looked ahead in transition, and delivered passes where teammates could score. She also showed her playmaking ability off the dribble, attacking the rim and creating for others when the defense collapsed. Rose impacted the game as a scorer, passer, and playmaker, and rarely seemed to force the action. The amazing thing is that Rose is just going to the 8th grade. The future is bright for the young guard, but after seeing her at this showcase, so is the present.
