Players Who Caught My Attention This Grassroots Season

Now that the grassroots season has ended, we will spend a few days looking at some players who haven't announced their plans to play at the next level. Plenty of 2027 prospects have committed to programs around the country, and some 2028 prospects in Wisconsin and beyond have announced their plans to play at schools at the next level. That said, we will look at some players who have excelled this spring and summer and earned looks from college coaches.    I saw New Berlin Eisenhower play a few times this past high school season, and Hermann has improved significantly since this past winter. She had plenty of confidence with the ball in her hands and was willing to space the floor well beyond the three-point line. I thought she was a kid who could swing any game her 24:Up team played in, and was willing to make things happen with the ball in her hands when necessary. She's one to watch in the 2028 class.     There isn't anything Hinz does that's that flashy or jumps out individually, but she does everything well. She can initiate offense, move away from the ball, post up, make quick reads with the ball, space the floor, and defend multiple positions. She has the versatility to get into most lineups, and is one of the 2028 prospects I'm most interested in following to see what kind of interest she draws at the next level.     The Eau Claire Memorial wing isn't the most explosive athlete around the country, but her basketball IQ more than makes up for it. McCarthy plays the game at her own pace and allows the defense to dictate the right play for her. I thought she showed her footwork in the paint and how well she can score off her pivot game. She is a player regional programs should see at some point over the next few years if they get a chance.     The Hortonville native was impressive with her [program_tooltip program_id='713043' first='Wisconsin' last='Impact'] group over the summer. Hoell showed the physical and athletic tools to affect the game on both ends of the floor, and could earn important minutes with the Polar Bears this coming winter. She shot the ball well when I saw her play, and I thought she moved her feet well defensively. She is an intriguing rising sophomore who could play a role at the top of the FVA over the next three seasons.
