Other Intriguing Prospects From the Grassroots Season

Now that the grassroots season has ended, we will spend a few days looking at some players who haven't announced their plans to play at the next level. Plenty of 2027 prospects have committed to programs around the country, and some 2028 prospects in Wisconsin and beyond have announced their plans to play at schools at the next level. That said, we will look at some players who have excelled this spring and summer and earned looks from college coaches. At some point this week, potentially as early as tomorrow, we'll start posting All-AAU teams from all the high school age levels.    Hendrickson is a slightly undersized post player for the next level, but I love how hard she works around the basket. The West Salem native is a physical player who can record a double-double in any game and doesn't shy away from anyone. She's a player who will play with physicality wherever she plays, and could be an intriguing frontcourt player for regional programs in the 2028 class.     The Southwest Wisconsin native is a player who does all the little things right. Olson is a skilled perimeter defender who can move her feet defensively and make plays on the ball. She's also been one of the more consistent perimeter shooters in her time at the high school level. She always seems to be around the play and making things happen that can swing a game.     The Brookfield Academy post player caught my attention over the high school season and did a nice job around the basket on both ends of the floor. Peterson continued that success with her [program_tooltip program_id='712356' first='1' last='on 1 Milwaukee'] group all spring and summer. The lefty did the fundamentals well in her minutes and is a reliable player who can do everything a coach may want. She's a little younger, but will be interesting to see develop over the next few years.     Neal is an undersized guard, but her motor allowed her to play up and contribute with her [program_tooltip program_id='713045' first='Wisconsin' last='Lakers'] 16u UAA group. The Kettle Moraine sophomore plays hard whenever she's on the floor and never gives up on plays. I thought she showed what she could be in spurts while playing up this summer, and I'll be interested to see what her offensive game looks like in a few years as she develops her skillset. Kids with her type of motor will draw coaches' attention.
