About Maisie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My game is physical, aggressive, and team-first. I'm big on defense, going after rebounds, getting steals, and forcing jump balls. I can play multiple positions, so I do whatever my team needs—handling the ball, driving, or shooting. I focus on making smart plays, getting assists, and feeding teammates when they’re hot. If my shot isn’t falling, I make up for it with defense and rebounding.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’d describe my mentality as calm and level-headed. I stay grounded no matter the situation. I focus on lifting my teammates and being someone they can rely on. I like understanding the ‘why’ behind coaching decisions because it helps me make smarter choices on the court. I really enjoy the mental side and strategy of the game.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I volunteer for the "Police Lights of Christmas" program, and help coach basketball and volleyball for younger girls. I play high school volleyball and softball, as well as basketball. I earned WBCA All-State Academic Honors, and WFPCA All-State Academic Honors. I also recently received the "PSAT Distinguished Student Award," for being in the top 5% of the nation in testing.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I've learned how to lead, throughout the years, by watching my coaches and team captains. I was the team captain on my volleyball team this past season, and a team lead/coach for the "Empow-her-ment" Program offered at The Driveway, a basketball training facility in Hobart, WI.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I was blessed to earn spots on the varsity basketball and softball teams, as a freshman last year. I learned quickly, that not everyone was happy about these accomplishments. I have learned to read the room, and adjust to various personalities, while balancing my desire to play my best for the team. I've learned to be stronger mentally, and kind to everyone, especially when they're new.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college with strong academics and a positive team culture. I think I’d do best on a small to medium-sized campus, but I’m open as I learn more through the recruiting process. Location isn’t a priority—I’m focused on finding the best fit. I want a coach who is tough, teaches, and holds players to high standards on and off the court.
