Boomshakalaka: Forward Jam-Fest at Michigan Jam Live

Michigan Jam Live 3v3 was an instant hit. Exciting high school matchups, talented prospects, Prep Girls Hoops coverage, Championship Awards, and a facility worthy of the occasion--I couldn't be happier with how the first event turned out. I appreciate everyone who helped make the day a memorable experience and look forward to making this an annual offering in the community. She jumped up on the perimeter to deflect a pass for a steal, showed her outside range by drilling a smooth catch and shoot three from the slot, faced-up and drove to the basket for layups, and scored put backs in traffic after working for inside position. Ellee was effective in the pick and roll, finished with touch off two feet, and protected the basket as a shot blocker.     Amelie caught fire and delivered a memorable game for Clarkston White at Michigan Jam Live 3v3. She went on a scoring spree that earned a caption of "on fire" in my notes. Amelie drained a wing three, tripled from the corner, and pivoted to get her feet set, then ripped the net for another three from the corner that sent the home crowd into a frenzy. She used excellent pivoting footwork in the paint to get the angle, then scored the contested layup. Amelie is a versatile wing-forward who has a very productive career ahead of her with the Wolves.     Mia stepped up for Oxford in the elimination tournament, and her impact inside gave the Wildcats an advantage at Michigan Jam Live 3v3. She caught passes with good hands, pivoted, and finished with a soft touch around the basket in traffic. Mia went up strong after a drop-step pivot to score an and-one off two, and gave guards a reliable finisher at the front of the rim. She's a skilled forward who will be a great addition to a college program.     Bella gave Clarkston Gold a gutsy performance at Michigan Jam Live 3v3, playing a pivotal role in the team's success. She battled through physical pain and delivered in the clutch to help her squad finish as the Wings Bracket Champions. Bella drilled a three up top and from the wing in the Championship Game. She scored a strong contested finish in the lane, earned a trip to the line after using a nice high pick-up move on a drive, and buried the free throw. Bella was active on the glass throughout the day. One of her highlights happened when she fake a DHO, split the gap, and scored a smooth high-rip layup with her left at the rim. She's a crafty, skilled, and strong forward who will be a force for Clarkston again this winter.     Jaylen is an under-the-radar forward in Oxford's lineup who competes with a physical edge and gritty determination that catches your attention. At Michigan Jam Live 3v3, she came through in the elimination tournament. Jaylen caught passes at the doorstep and finished efficiently with her right and left. She attacked downhill off the bounce to score with her inside hand, called out switches on the defensive end, and hit a backdoor cutter in stride with a pinpoint pass for the assist. Jaylen works hard to defend the post and contributes mightily as a rebounder. She's a prospect who can help a program at the next level.     Libby had a notable day for Brighton at Michigan Jam Live 3v3. She has a confident shot from beyond the arc and buried a smooth three from the top of the key. Libby protected the rim as a shot blocker, worked hard to secure rebounds, and dished a dime to a cutter for an assist. One of her highlights happened when she drove into a stride-stop, pivoted, and went up strong to score an and-one floater with a soft touch off the glass. Libby is a talented forward with versatility, strength, and a competitive edge that will make her a tough matchup for opponents this winter.
