DMV Expo: Best Two-Play

The Expo in the DMV showed strong play from across the mid-atlantic. Players were able to show off their creativity within the half court setting and open paint, during 3v3 games. Then came a competitive 5v5 rotation of games. This allowed players to showcase their full team and individual talent, in front of scouts and college coaches.   Below are my best 5'10 two-way players.    Zaria's game shined bright during the 5v5 games as her skillset is best shown in the open court. She has long legs and quick feet that allows her to get down court quickly as she can run the lane well.   With the ball in hand she is just as fast and versatile to either finish at the rim using her height or her in-game instincts to stop and pop smoothly into her mid range.   Defensively, Vann was able to guard every position showing off her well balanced feet along with a long wingspan that slowed most defenders in front of her.     Johnson is a plug and play type of player who can flat out play.   She was able to find herself near the ball on most possessions whether it be in the paint fighting for weak side rebounds, moving without the ball, or bringing the ball up the court.   A few possessions Mya became the primary point guard, where she was able to showcase her ball handling and sound decision making from the top of the key. Lastly, when giving the chance Mya showed a nice formed jumper knocking down a few mid range shots and put backs near the basket.     Samantha was hands down the most versatile two-way player in the gym as she quickly caught my and Dickinson College's eye.   Her speed of the rebound was unmatched. Multiple possessions she was able to secure the defensive rebound and like a cannon, shot through the gap to start the break. Slicing through transition defensive with the ball in her left hand she was able to get to the paint and most times kick it out, as she played under control.   Defensively, her hands were always active in the passing lanes as her long wingspan allowed her to tip multiple passes.       Mila played the point-forward possession mostly and when her team needed to slow down and get a bucket...she came through.   Her college ready frame and guard like ball handling was hard to defend in the open court. She is strong enough to back you down but smooth enough to crossover drive or shoot.   Defensively, that same size and strength allows Spencer to guard every possession with confidence.     Igwe was a magnet to the rim on both ends. On every shot attempt she was fighting for position with her endless motor.   Adanna, is that player who doesn't play for points but rather the betterment of the team. Fighting for loose ball and saving multiple possessions looked to be the focus.   Offensively, moving well without the ball. Rotating from block to free throw back to the block. Setting picks for her guard(s), with a strong roll to the basket. Adanna can quietly average a double-double with her motor.     Zikora is a player who is athletic and can shine around the rim. She has a quick bounce off the floor to win any ball in the air.   That same athleticism became evident on the defensive end. Her quick feet stayed in jump roping and able to slide with the ball, alter shot attempts, or pull down rebounds.   Offensively, Zikora has the most potential to average 15+ points.
