Flagler Fall Camp First Look

As we inch closer to the start of the regular season, Flagler College hosted its annual fall camp, bringing together some of the top talent in the state of Florida. Many talented prospects performed well throughout the event. Some players dominated offensively, others controlled the glass, and several made their presence felt as shutdown defenders. In this article, we highlight the prospects who stood out above the rest.    [player_tooltip player_id='1279681' first='Veda' last='Murphy'] was one of the top players in the building, with her athleticism, explosiveness, leadership, and offensive versatility standing out throughout the camp. The sophomore played team basketball, rebounded well, and made an impact on the defensive end. Murphy can score from the midrange, produce in transition, and can finish around the rim with craftiness.     [player_tooltip player_id='1455456' first='Asia' last='Washington'] was the most dominant prospect at the Flagler camp. She consistently attacked the rim, overpowered smaller defenders, and displayed good footwork in the paint, with the ability to finish using either hand. Washington was most dangerous when playing downhill with power, but she also showed her versatility by stepping behind the three-point line and knocking down shots. Her offensive game is still being polished, but she is already a force and will continue to improve her game.     [player_tooltip player_id='1308934' first='Kaitlyn' last='Farr'] played well at the Flagler camp and continued to show her versatility on both ends of the floor. She handled the ball well, attacked the rim, finished strong, and shot effectively from the perimeter. Defensively, Farr competed hard, protected the rim, and blocked shots. She is a smooth, intelligent player with a high basketball IQ.     [player_tooltip player_id='1223184' first='Riley' last='France'] was an impressive prospect who made an impact on both ends of the floor. Her length and willingness to attack the rim immediately made an impression. She also rebounded well and consistently showed the tangibles that allow teams to win (hustle, defense, confidence). France ran the floor effectively, got out quickly in transition, and converted at the rim.     [player_tooltip player_id='968107' first='Zoe' last='McCurry'] was an impressive prospect who excelled throughout the camp's one-on-one, three-on-three, and five-on-five activities. She displayed strong leadership, a high basketball IQ, and showed excellent court vision. McCurry was also one of the top perimeter shooters in attendance, drawing praise from several coaches for her smooth and consistent shooting ability. That shooting made her dangerous on the pick-and-roll, and on one play, she executed it to perfection.
