Offseason Radar Watch Region 2-4A

After going over five of the most talented players in Region 1-4A, we move to the next region. Here are five players that people should be aware of before the start of the upcoming school season in Region 2-4A.    [player_tooltip player_id='746253' first='Riley' last='Etherton'] had a great junior season at Karns High School and should have a great senior season.   One of the best parts of Etherton's game is her spot-up perimeter shooting. Etherton, if given the space, has a consistent jumper that can cause another team issues throughout games. In multiple games last season, she had three or more made 3-pointers. This includes a game against Campbell County where she had five made 3-pointers.   Etherton is also a solid rebounder and is active defensively. Her effort alone on defense can help her generate steals.     Senior [player_tooltip player_id='912874' first='Jaylen' last='Drazkowski'] has a lot to like about her game.   Drazkowski, first off, is a great jump shooter. She has a good form with a repeatable motion that works both from distance and in the midrange. Drazkowski can also be leaned on as the primary creator for her team on offense.   On the dribble, Drazkowski reads opposing defenses well. If a post defender steps up to play help defense on her, she analyzes that quickly and can make a pass to her teammate who is then open because of the help defense.     [player_tooltip player_id='779486' first='Payton' last='Richmond-Watson'] has established herself as one of the best centers in her class in her junior season. She should further establish that in her last season of high school hoops.   Richmond-Watson is such a good center because her fundamentals are elite. She has several post moves she can go to score in post-ups- drop steps, up-and-unders, you name it. Her above-average footwork at 6'1" makes all these post moves extremely difficult for other teams to defend. She also has a good enough dribble to attack the paint from the arc effectively.   Richmond-Watson is also a good post defender and a perimeter shooter.     [player_tooltip player_id='821770' first='Riley' last='Hunt'] should be a key piece in Bearden High School having another successful season.   Hunt is a great one-on-one scorer. She knows how to break defenders down when they are on an island with her. The main ways she creates space are with crossovers and elite hesitation moves. When she does these dribble moves, defenders often back up to cut off driving lanes to the basket, which opens the door to another one of Hunt's strengths as a player: her mid-range jumper.   Hunt is also a scrappy guard defender who can create turnovers. She is good at capitalizing on turnovers when they turn into fast breaks.     [player_tooltip player_id='785000' first='Reagan' last='Sheridan'] has good perimeter defensive skills with a good offensive game paired with it.   Sheridan is a player who can defend pretty much every perimeter player a team has. She has high-level speed both vertically and horizontally, which allows her to stick with defenders, as well as rapidly close down passing lanes. Last season, Sheridan had multiple games with two or more steals. This includes a three-steal performance against Alcoa High School.
